Hmm...

So I've fallen headlong into the world of Otalia, and am enjoying the youtube clips from past months and the smattering of stories that have been posted thus far. But I'm curious: there's very little sex in any of the stories. Don't get me wrong, there's been some fun stuff posted! Short stories mostly, with some lovin'. But not that many. It could ( Read more... )

i would love you forever if you wrote Otalia PWP! there would be some serious worshipping going on, and perhaps naming of my first born after you.

i've read a few Otalia fics, but most of them have been horribly out of character and therefore just painful to read. maybe it's because i have watched the show since i was 15 and saw when Olivia first appeared, so I know her character pretty well.

i'm sad that the show is ending when they are only just beginning :-\

good luck with the writing!!! *sits and waits patiently*

How weird...I was thinking the same exact thing earlier today. All of the fic's I've read so far portray Olivia and Natalia as chaste...which doesn't ring particularly true for some reason.

I'm excited to see what you come up with!

Olivia is definitely NOT chaste whatsoever. Natalia yes, but not Olivia.

I am all for an Otalia piece from you. I just did a little happy dance in my living room right now!

IMO, there is a lot for them to overcome before they get to nookie, and they are mutually wrapped so tightly around their denial... it's hard to even remember when they were cute and flirty together, much less imagine them doing anything more than that. (There is a reason I've taken to referring to this pairing as "agony porn.")

I have read some Otalia smut. It has been not so great.

Knowing your penchant for well-conceived hotness, I'd love to see what you can do with these two. :)

I hear ya about overcoming things before they get to the love thing. But there's nothing wrong with fast forwarding a few months, is there? >:) I think a reward for surviving the agony is in order.

Oh, I'm all for looking forward to hotness. :) But I think that might be the answer to why the current generation of fic is so chaste... I spent 8 hours in the car today (long story, none of it good) and dedicated a large chunk of that time to pondering how they'll overcome their current stalemate, and I got nowhere. I think a lot of fans are stuck in the same way.

Okay, since you've disabled the option of anonymous comments, I have to embarrass myself in front of all...

What's Otalia? Is it a TV show? Does one need to have previous knowledge about it to enjoy your PWP?

Let's see, where do I start? Otalia is a pairing from the American soap opera Guiding Light. The love story has been building subtley for about a year, and we've just gotten to the point where one of them has gotten a clue (Olivia), and the other one's (Natalia) unhappily engaged to a dude (Frank). They are star-crossed!

I picked up on it a few weeks ago and have been slowly working my way through all of their scenes on a youtube channel. If you're interested, check it out: http://www.youtube.com/user/Otaliafan
That will give a look at the ladies.

But if you don't want to spend days (and I mean days) watching their relationship unfold, the story will make enough sense, I think. :D

Thanks! twisted_twister April 4 2009, 20:32:27 UTC
I really appreciate it. I keep doing the same mistake and assuming that if I don't watch TV, then any unfamiliar name I see in fandom-land MUST be some TV programme's name. I still remember how I was laughed at when I asked if Snarry and Harco were Japanese manga movies.... But it sounds Japanese!

Anyway, thanks for not laughing (out loud anyway) and explaining it to me. I'm sure any story you write will be so good that I wouldn't care much for any background but I'll keep the links just in case.

*goes back to wait patiently for great PWP*
