Not a Story, but About One

I've received my assignment for the DWP Secret Santa exchange. I am therefore officially nervous. Fuck! Oh, the pressure!

I got a pretty great idea (or set of ideas, let's not be too specific here) that I would love to see SOMEONE write, but me? Sigh. Also, I used to write fast--Small Favors was done in two weeks. Of course, I was not working for ( Read more... )

*serves up the venti, cinnamon, dolce latte with no foam and a special swirl on the top just for good measure.*

Lol. You crack me up.

I have every confidence in your skills as a writer, even with other things swirling around in your day to day plans. I am excited to see you've taken on on the challenge and am sure your little giftee is going to be one happy person on Christmas morning!

I surely do appreciate that! And while I'm here, let me say how much I enjoyed your recent Meryl tribute. Really well done--I loved it! Thanks so much for the beverage, by the way. :D

Anyone who got you writing them a story will consider that a gift. I recently started watching Sanctuary on scifi which features the lovely Amanda Tapping formerly of Stargate SG1. This led me to Stargate Sam/Janet fics, and guess who I found out had several awesome sexy fics on P&P? I also found your excellent Law and Order SVU series after I searched the site. I've never even watched an episode, but I read your fics and loved them. That's you right, unless there's another author named Harriet with a beta named Xander. ;) So I hope the Starbucks helps ease the anxiety and that RL gives you some time to do what you do so well. Happy Thanksgiving.

Yep, that's me. What a great compliment to have read stories even if you haven't watched the show! Very glad you liked them. All that stuff was written years ago, and it's so lovely to know that new readers are still discovering them.

I got a start on some ideas today, by the way, and paid a visit to Starbucks. It did me good. Thank you, and Happy Thanksgiving to you!

And while they're at it, a grande peppermint mocha for me! Ooo, and a pumpkin scone! <3

I'm generally a straight, black coffee kinda call, but the holidays is time for desserts made into drinks!

Oh, I also love a peppermint mocha as well. Hot or iced. Yum. I am for desserts as drinks all year round! No black coffee for me. I am a giant wuss.

The only coffee I won't generally drink black is Starbucks', because they roast the house till it's charred in order for the coffee flavour to still come out from under everything they put on top of it. It's like they burned a tired, ran hot water over it, then brewed it. IT TASTES LIKE BURNING.

Lol. I only started drinking it black because of Captain Janeway anyway ;P

I know exactly what you mean. My assignment involves a choice between two requests, and I haven't exactly had a jolt of inspiration for either one yet. *sigh*

Good luck writing your assignment. *hands over a scalding latte* I have every confidence in your abilities.

Choices are tough... I can relate! Good luck with yours as well. The best thing about struggling through the process is knowing how many great things there will be to read at the end of it! :D
