What are some of your favorite post apocalyptic films? Good, bad, popular, obscure, whatever you think fits the description. It occurs to me I should offer some of my favs; road warrior, blood of heroes, 6 string samurai, terminator 1, Avalon.

I like both T1 and T2, and am quite unashamed of it.

If I may bring in a TV series, what I've seen of Jeremiah so far (on Netflix; this show ran for one season, or was it two?) has impressed me quite a bit.

i liked T1, less so T2, and i feel it was less of a post-apocalypse movie because despite it's premise, it almost entirely took place in modern day. T3 was pretty bad despite having a good cast, and i have yet to see the latest one with Christian Bale, which seems firmly post-apocalypse.

I don't think Marc Caro does anything but post-apocalyptic...his stuff is good.

Delicatessen and The City of Lost Children are both great. I haven't seen his most recent film, but I think it falls in the same category, though it may be more sci-fi.

Code 46, 12 Monkeys, Children of Men, District 9, The Matrix, Serenity, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, WALL-E, Shaun of the Dead, and for sentimental reasons...Zardoz.

It can probably be argued that THX 1138, Brazil, Ghost in the Shell, Gattaca, The Island, Minority Report, Blade Runner, and Logan's Run are a kind of post-apocalyptic (if you count the source of the dystopia as having ended the world as we know it). If so, I definitely love all of thems.

Really, I just love movies.

In TV there's the new Battlestar Galactica, which I loved, despite the fact that I need to catch up with the last 2 seasons.

In recent comic books, I liked a bunch of Y: The Last Man.

I came in here just to rec Children of Men. In general, dystopian fiction is my favorite genre, and that one just owned.

Also: Wall-E = surprisingly good.
