that sounds like so much fun! nh was supposed to come up to boston for work today, and now i really really wish the trip had not been canceled so we could have come early and attended this. but many hurrah's for the beginning of fall!
I think I just put my finger on something about our street performances. It never fails to astonish me how we draw a huge crowd in a way that your normal street musicians generally utterly fail to. I've busked a bit, and seen plenty of buskers. And it's terribly uncommon for street musicians to draw a crowd of more than a half-dozen people who actually stand there and watch and listen and groove with you. So I guess it makes perfect sense that it surprises (and delights) me whenever we captivate random passers-by like that, dozens at a time.
You guys are louder, livelier, and way more interested in actively engaging your audience than most street musicians are. Also, the music is much more conducive to dancing and general mayhem-making than your usual folk-guitar busker's music is.
