I took a lot of physics in high school, and though I don't remember all the equations, I still remember arcane stuff (arcane for an ESL teacher anyway) like Ampere's right hand rule. Heh, well, water expands when if freezes-- it has that funky negative-slope line on its phase diagram-- so enough pressure will keep it liquid at a temperature where it would be a solid at atmospheric pressure. I've only seen that happen once, but I was pretty little-- We put some pop bottles in the snow on a ski trip. The slush overflowed the bottles when we opened them, I think. Sounds cool, and also tasty!
