Umm... This isn't related to your story... But I saw your post on Marys_Bookshelf, of which I am a member, though a fairly inactive one. I would like to applaud you for sticking up for Ms. McDonnell they you did and frankly the way many more should have done if they really are her fans. I really don't know what exactly is going on with this whole lawsuit thing, and I haven't been successful in trying to find anything out beyond what is being posted at the community (most of which I hope Ms. McDonnell never sees). From what little I have gathered though, I agree with what you posted and I thought I'd let you know you weren't alone in that... Hopefully this wasn't overstepping any boundaries.

I don't want to dwell on this too much, but I think it's all good and well to celebrate someone's work, but abusing them is quite a different story. Of course, "tempers are running a little high" to coin a phrase ;) And nobody wants to look at this logically because they think something is being taken away from them and they're being insulted. I knew that in speaking up, all the fingers would inadvertently be pointed at me, because somebody needs to be the scapegoat as no one will admit wrong doing or accept responsibility

Like nerina_b's post, this isn't related to your story. I came home from school today and I checked my f-list only to find out that marys_bookshelf is now closed. First, as a Mary McDonnell fan, I salute you for sticking up for Ms. McDonnell. I do not blame her for the C&D as it is well within her legal rights. However, we don't have the complete picture as to what the issue that was brought to Ms. McDonnell's attention was. Thus, we don't have the right to judge her actions however harsh they may seem.

I was VERY glad to read your post. At least there was someone who actually didn't feel irrational anger towards Ms. McDonnell and stood up for her. It pained be to read the comments and how much her fans are no longer fans of her anymore. From what little I've gathered from the posts at marys_bookshelf, I have not been successful at learning anything about the issue

I've only really lurked at the bookshelf...more just shrugged and joined after getting sucked into the Skiffy board and realizing all these other places the fans were lurking. I am not a fan of any r/l stories with actors and definitely not a fan of any sort of picture manips, etc....

This is great news. I will definitely be joining. As the others have said, I was very pleased to see a rational voice over at Mary's Bookshelf. I did try to post rationally about this too, trying to work out what had happened. I was certainly not feeling any anger towards Mary, just confusion really. It was a shame the community had to end like that, but I'm all for looking to the future.

Also, just one last word on the subject. Due to how the 'situation' was depicted, I think some fans at Mary's Bookshelf (myself included up to a point) overreacted due to lack of any clear information. In hindsight, I regret not waiting for a accurate explanation. I disagreed entirely with the sudden anti-Mary stance though, and wanted to say as much, but the community closed before I got the chance. Anyway, I just wanted to show my support and offer my thanks for explaining what happened.
