Don't worry about Bill, he'll be back with rings on his fingers and bells on his toes *giggles* He's so lucky to you watching out for him. He told me to frak-off! Though he was all for the story line initially, he thinks that everybody's being unfair to him. I agree! *nods emphatically*

Ah, I've been waiting for these 2 to get a little more romantic! yay!
I know she's in love with Bill, but the poor woman needs some male companionship on that frak'in planet.
Very sad about the miscarriages. :(
I'm still waiting to see if either man figures out they have competition for Laura's affections!

Yeah Laura's got it bad for Bill. As I said to mulch11, Laura does love Bill, and I think that what lies between them will never die or fade. That's the way it is! At least in my book.

But Laura's no shrinking violet either. She is master of her own destiny outside of the prescribed mythology of the show. Why shouldn't she live her second chance at life as fully as she can. Her existence is separate of Bill's and is not entirely prescribed by his decisions or behaviour.

I of course peppered things a bit for dramatic purposes, But I really would love to know why Laura didn't have kids. I always find it fascinating that it's socially more acceptable for a woman to 'not be able to have kids' as opposed to 'choosing not to have kids'. Crap! That's what I should have done... Ahh well... *shrugs*... the dye is cast.

These aren't comments on your fic, just general comments...

I've always wondered too why she didn't get married or have kids. In my own fic, I have it that she didn't consciously choose to avoid both, it just worked out that way in her life. And that's what happens sometimes.

There's no way to know for sure how Colonial society feels about a woman who chooses not to have kids, but speaking as a woman in the U.S. who never wanted them, I can tell you that in general, people tend to think there's something wrong with you if you don't want kids. It's better than it used to be, because the child-free community is more vocal now. But people still are very patronizing and tell you "you'll change your mind". *rolls eyes*

I totally get that. And I feel the same way.
I however would like to have kids someday. I just find it really odd the way most people react as though you're damaging the fabric of society and committing sacrilege by choosing not to. It's like you have the plague, you hate children. *rolls eyes* It's very... immature! As a woman, I have great respect for women who consciously make the decision. It's not easy when you've been 'conditioned' that way. I think a lot of people don't get what a responsible choice it is.

I love your idea! And I love Kalin though he is too perfect=)Laura deserves him & I hope he truly loves her & they finally will show a greatest frak in the world!!=)

I love this chapter! I especially love how Laura is finally letting him in enough to tell him about her past. And vice versa with Kalin. It's nice to see her happy and not worrying about everyone else for once. There are other things I really enjoyed but the brian is a bit too scattered to go into them in detail. ONce again looking forward to more.
