at CTY? well, it depends which class you take/which site you're at. Mostly, we frolic in the fields of intellectual awesomeness. I took all science courses (Intro to Laboratory Sciences at Hopkins one summer, and Genetics at Dickenson College in PA another summer) but there's loads of options. Latin, Greek, the classics, Great Revolutions, Oceanography (and in Hawaii), Fast-paced math sequence (where you work your way through a year or two of mathematics in three weeks, at your own pace), Cryptography, and much, much more - there's something to satisfy any nerd. There there's load of traditions, like passionfruit (various mornings, it varies according to site) where people get together and go around in a circle and make toasts. There are loads of crazy activities (including mandatory fun at some sites) and a wee bit of down time (methinks they're scared what we'll do if we're given a little down time- that many highly-tuned brain cells stuck together for three weeks- it can only lead to trouble.) it's fantastic, and awesome, and ( ... )
