Back where I used to live in Jersey, there was a small women's health clinic on the corner where a single man would protest. Just the one. He never bothered anyone, not that I could see; just stood there with his one sign, watching the passing traffic. Sometimes he'd have a chair and would read with the sign leaning against his legs. It was the quietest protest I'd ever seen. The funniest thing was there was a church across the way and they never did any protests. In fact, I saw more parties at that church than anything else ( ... )

I was sexually assaulted two years ago and went to Rape Crisis Services at my local Planned Parenthood and had to deal with protesters. I just ignored them even though there was so much I wanted to say.

I know many clinics have patient escorts but I really think we need the equivalent of "freedom riders" for them. Lines of people from the parking lot to the door forming a guard so that the patient can't even be seen.
