Wanted to share my sterilization story..

Aug 28, 2010 02:04

Well, this update took long enough to write, but life has been pretty hectic. Here it is, my sterilization story. Please keep in mind that this is a lifelong dream of mine, and that if you are interested in any sort of medical procedure, you should talk to your medical professional. As always, YMMV.

Behind the cut: long ramblings, pictures that could be considered NSFW, and possible TMI. Continue at your own risk. )

You don't look weird, you look happy, as you should.:)

It's nice reading that you had such a positive experience.

Thanks. I was very prepared for the worst, and somehow had a really awesome experience. I was happily surprised

I'm glad to hear you had a gyno willing to perform the surgery and that it went well. Congrats! It was nice to read this and get an idea of what to expect when I (hopefully) get my tubes tied.

I'm glad it gave you hope.

The best advice I can give you is to be firm and show that you've done your research. Tell your doctor what you've learned about sterilization procedures (essure, tubal, etc) and be very clear in what you say. If they still deny you, make it very clear that you will be bringing your business and money elsewhere, to a more caring environment.

If it can be done in Montgomery, Alabama, it can definitely be done where you are too. Keep your spirits up, and good luck!

Thanks! I found it was really helpful reading others' stories while I was in my waiting period, so I felt like it was only right to contribute back.

Thanks for posting this. I just got an IUD that'll have me set for the next five years, but I'm planning on spending that time considering sterilization when that's done and it's great to read about people's experiences with this.
