i'm increasingly worried about my parents because they're getting older and my mother is working two jobs. the woman is 46 and is working two jobs. this shouldn't be happening. when i tell my dad that i will start paying at least half or all of my rent he tells me that it's not gonna happen and i'm still their responsibility. my brother's just ( Read more... )

neekta. listen to me. don't do it. do NOT come back to southern california. do not put your happiness on hold for your parents. life here is so fucking depressing. if your parents were really really struggling financially, then they'd work something out. but they're your parents and from my observations they seem to be smart and good parents. they know whats best for the family, you know? and im sure they'd want you to succeed and be happy, and its so much harder to achieve either of those down here. so don't make the decision unless if its what you really want to do. i dunno. shit.

no no i hear what you're saying but it also mixes in with the fact that i miss my parents a lot more than i ever truly expected to. that sounds a little harsh but i'm sure you understand what i mean. i did think about what i feel like when i'm in irvine and how i know there are only a handful of kids from uci that i'd actually like to talk to, and it's probably all kids i went to highschool with. i don't know, they're just ideas but chances are in the end i'll pick norcal.

i understand. i missed my mom SO bad when i first moved out, and i still got to see her a couple times a week. so i know, its really hard. but whatever you chose to do, i think you'll end up satisfied. good luck lady.

i know what you mean, i'm trying to get off my parents' tab, and my 23 year old sister is still using their money for school, rent, and whatever else she feels like buying at any point.

pisses me off
