Mom told me that my cat Gus has been coughing up blood for a little while now. They're going to take him to the vet soon. They'll probably have to take my other cat, Butch, too. He's lost sight in his left eye and doesn't eat anymore. His motor skills are also out the door. He can barely walk most of the time ( Read more... )

I'm sorry to hear about your kitties. ;__; <33 I hope it's nothing too serious.

As for books, I always pimp out Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini; it's my favorite. <3 To be honest I don't read much, but some my friends of mine keep telling me to read The Wheel of Time fantasy series. Wiki tells me the first book in the series is The Eye of the World.

The thing is, they're both extremely old cats, so most likely, there's nothing the vet will be able to do.

I've read the Kite Runner and absolutely loved it! I'll take a look into the other one though. Thanks ♥

I'm sorry to hear that.

I'm partial to "junk lit."

Karma Girl is hysterically funny, especially if you like mocking of Superhero tropes.

The Dark Angel Trilogy is one of my favorites - very much in line with more classic fairytales. In other words, dark and beautiful.

The Last of the Renshai. This is based on a more Nordic mythology, but has swords and sorcery. Good if you like "epic fantasy" type things.

*hopes that helps a bit*

:( Poor kitties.

My favorite fantasy books are:

The Chronicles of the Cheysuli by Jennifer Roberson (starts with Shapechanger's Song)

The Dreamthief's Daughter by Michael Moorcock

Alphabet of Thorn by Patricia A. McKillip

And if you're interested in sci-fi at all, some other ones I've personally enjoyed are:

The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe

In Conquest Born and the Coldfire trilogy, both by C.S. Friedman

The Culture novels by Iain M. Banks, starting with Consider Phlebas.
