I don't really like the U of O. I feel isolated. My teachers pass me in the halls and have no idea who I am. I don't know even the faces of most of the people in my classes. It's too damn big here. I would much rather be part of a small community in a big city than part of a huge community in a small town.

Dear god, YES. I feel exactly the same way...and had much the same experience. Although I had an amazing adviser/professor in the Art History department and a few other people willing to give some guidance. But that's about it.
