C'est la vie

I've just signed up for spn_summergen! With big bang, this was one of the things I've wanted to do for a long time^^.

In other news, I'm more freaked than ever about going to California. I have no idea where I'll go when I arrive, what I'll do. *meep*

I want to do this too. I have mental health in the summer. I STILL want to do it. *contemplates*

You're right to contemplate! Writing a fic, receiving a fic, trying to guess who wrote what when the fics are posted anonymously - fun times! I would also enjoy the tiny possibility that I might receive a fic from you!

Good thing prompting isn't anonymous - everyone would spot mine miles away. LOL But, it's both scary and fun isn't it? You have NO idea what prompts you'll be given or what kind of fic you'll be writing.

Yeah. I think I'm going to do it. It'll still give me the month I'm actually off to play with my other toys. I was thinking that I might have to muck around with the 30_snapshots thing too.

Do it, do it! Yes, it's both scary and fun. What if nothing in the prompts you're given inspire you? And I haven't been really inspired to write fics lately, probably because I'm too anxious about stuff, but, but... This going to be SO fun, I know it!

Yay! I'm going to do it too. I was way too scared last year, but this year I'm going to take the plunge (despite still being scared!).

And you're going to have a great adventure in California, I know it!

Yay, you signed up! I was too scared to sign up last year either. I just got my LJ account and knew next to nothing about LJ, and I had never written a fic directly in English... I have grown a lot in one year!

I had a look at your prompts, and as usual, they're just awesome! I especially adore the first one - I've always wanted a fic where they have to pretend they don't know each other (and of course, one gets hurt!), have thought about writing something like that myself... Get out of my head! ;)

And you're going to have a great adventure in California, I know it!

Oh, I'm sure I will. What worries me the most is the arrival - I don't know where I'll stay while I'm looking for a place to live, I don't know how I'll go from Los Angeles (where I'll land) to Long Beach, etc. Stuff like that.

hee! I love your prompts too--especially re: Adam--I have really wanted to write something about him.

I kinda love that "can't admit they know each other scenario" too--I think I'm going to use it myself for a Holmes/Watson h/c fic--and you could borrow it too--the world needs more than one!

Maybe karma will work for us, and we'll get each others' prompts *g*

The key to LA, in my experience (my brother lives there) is to bite the bullet and rent/buy a car--maybe invest in a GPS, so you won't get lost. Will the school help you find a place to stay?

And thanks so much for the birthday fic--I love it!!!

We'll have to keep our fingers crossed! Your prompts are definitely the most inspiring to me among the ones who already signed up.

I don't know if the school will help me to find a place... I keep hearing different things on the subject. I'm not going to count too much on that, and assume I'll have to do it on my own. The problem is to know where I'll stay while I'm looking for a place. As for a car, it's going to be a question of money! I will get paid, but not a lot.

It makes me so happy that you loved your birthday fic. :)

I'll go around mid August, but I don't exactly yet... The problem is that I haven't made a demand for a visa yet, and if I set a date too early, there is a risk that my visa won't be ready for when I leave (which means I won't be able to leave and will lose my plane ticket). But what worries me the most is that I have no idea of what I'll do when I arrive in Los Angeles.

spn_summergen is something awesome!

Deep bnreaths, bb. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun in California. ♥

I don't know if I'm going to do summergen this year. Me and challenges are not on good terms lately (and speaking of: what about your BB?), both times I've been paired horribly, which, I know, it may happen. On the other hand it's a lot of fun to be part of it so I'm happy that you signed up.

Sometimes, I'm excited, sometimes I'm terrified. It's a mix bag. :) The part that worries me the most is the arrival, since I won't have a place yet and don't know anyone, but! A little earlier, wave_obuscura offered me to come down (she lives in Oregon) and help me settle the first few days, so it's a huge relief to know I won't be alone when I'll arrive (also, her offer touches me so much I could cry).

spn _summergen is something I've wanted to do for a long time, so I'm taking the plunge. I worry a little about the possibilty of being badly paired (I've looked at the people who already signed up, and some of their prompts are really not inspiring!), but well. This is one of those things you just have to try ( ... )

YAY for good friends. For all the scary things in fandom, this balances it so very well.

I didn't want to drag you down. It is a great challenge and last year I got a wonderful (horror) story out of it and got to write Adam, which was challenging and also gave me a bit of satisfaction after 5.18 beacuse Adam was so close to my own. I'm sure it will be great, it's just me that lately can only see things under the half-empty filter.

Feel free to hit me with any questions you may have, okay? I think I didn't send specific comments for the epilogue (although I may have to check!) because I thought it would change a bit by the time you went through with the changes.

Oh, don't worry, I was aware of summergen's limitations. I'm still excited. :)

Ah, I understand! It's true that it's been through some changes since its first version. I should try to work on it again, because time flies!
