So I sent in my letter of resignation today. Under some extenuating circumstances, they allowed me to backdate the letter (very long story there), so my last day at my company will be 2 Jan

aww, I'm sorry. Saying good bye to a place where you spent a great deal of time is always hard; I don't even want to imagine what it will be like when I'll have to leave my institute. I hope that you will feel just as at home in your new job! *hugs*

Thank you for the encouraging words!! :) It helps that my boyfriend is still going to be at this old workplace, so I won't feel like I'm cut off immediately from all my friends here, since I'd pop by occasionally to meet him and maybe say hi to my colleagues.
