i feed chewie royal canin puppy 33. they also make a food specifically for adult chihuahuas. before that i tried him on wellness and chicken soup for the puppy lover's soul. when i started switching him to royal canin he LOVED it. he'd pick all of the RC kibbles out and eat them first and leave the other stuff for later. it's a good quality food, but not the very best, and it's probably almost twice as expensive as the other two brands i've had him on, because the bags are smaller. i'm keeping chewie on it for now because he likes it so much, and i'd rather him eating a good food that he likes than a great food that he doesn't like as much.
i'm going to try something better when i get back to charlottetown. i just have to get to global and see what they have that fits into the "good" category. i know they don't have innova and i can't get it anywhere on the island so i need something other than that. i think they might carry solid gold barking at the moon. i hope!
Innova Evo, Nature's Variety - Raw Instant, Performatrin Ultra, Natural Balance Food Rolls/Allergy Formula, Solid Gold Barking at the Moon Wet Food and Evanger's Wet Food are brands that I feed regularly. These are, in my mind, top quality and premium feeds. Feel free to research each brand yourself and figure out what you think will work best for you and your dogs. If price and convenience don't matter, I would go raw. There are a lot of raw groups out there, rawdogs is a good source, it has links and several members there are really knowledgeable. - There are eve pre-made raw diets, so thats not so inconvenient, and if I had unlimited money that is what I would do
