if i were you i'd wait until he's a bit bigger before you let him sleep with you. when we got chewbacca he was just over a pound and i was terrified that we'd squish him while he was sleeping. it's good to get him used to sleeping in his bed alone right away, anyway. chewie is 3 months old now and sleeps with us half the night. i usually wait until he falls asleep and put him in his bed, and then when he wakes up to pee i let him sleep with us the rest of the night.

i agree with the wicker things - chewie likes to chew on baskets and stuff like that and he'll even pull pieces off, so watch out with yours!

oh, and another thing about the bed - if your bed is high, i definitely wouldn't let him sleep with you until he's bigger and knows to stay next to you all night. we put our mattress on the floor so chewie wouldn't hurt himself if he falls.

good luck! the mommy jitters will wear off pretty quickly :)

Yes it's really high. Ok thank you for the advice! Do you know of the wicker will harm him? I'm OK if he chews it as long as it won't be a hazard. If it's a hazard, I'll take it back.

You sound like you've put a lot of thought into accomodating your pup, and I'm sure you will do great. Whatever doesn't work can be adjusted. :)

Off topically, I love your decor. Your floors are lovely. :)

I think you're fairly well organised. Not to mention, it's not that hard to run out & buy another thing or 2 if you feel you've forgotten something.

Mommy Paranoia is VERY common! lol. I still get all paranoid over Tony and we've had him for over a month now. Sheesh! TIme FLIES when you're having fun.

Esteban is a really cool & unique name. And I love chocolate & tans! He looks like he'll have those hazel colored eyes...they're too die FOR!!!
Can't wait to see more pictures. Your puppy is definitely very drool worthy.

Aww you must be so excited!!! You seem very well prepared. All chihuahuas are different, but I know mine would never chew up that wicker bed. They're more into things that could possibly kill them. Literally: One time Elsie came prancing into the living room, all, "Look what I've got!!!!" and she proudly spat out a RAZORBLADE. Thank god she didn't have any cuts... such a miracle. Sorry for my random story. I suppose the moral could be, don't leave razor blades lying around (even though I don't, which still confuses me!)

The puppy is so so cute, and I love how you set up the crate. :) I look forward to more pictures!!
