Help: Clueless about cameras...

May 06, 2008 22:44

I look at all the digital cameras out there and I feel completely clueless and overwhelmed with all the choices. For years I've had a Canon PowerShot A60, but it's not working anymore and I really need a new camera by the end of the month. It was an okay camera while it worked, except the pictures tended to be too grainy.

What would you suggest ( Read more... )

I am really happy with my Exlim (I think its by Casio). Affordable, small, but takes very nice pictures and has good features :)
If you watch John & Kate Plus 8, it is the same camera she gets on her birthday to replace the one she hated. She has only good things to say about the Exlim on the show too ;)

Actually, I don't watch tv, so I'm not familiar with the show, but thanks for your comment. It helps! :D

i used to have an earlier model of the sony cybershot and it served me well until i upgraded to my DSLR )canon eos 30d).

the fuji finepix j50 is getting quite a good rap, but i think you get more value and better quality for your money with the olympus fe-340. we bought the olympus for my brother for christmas and he's been really happy with it.

hope that helps :)

I have a Fuji Finepix (I forget the model number), which has been fine and I think it was a pretty good deal when I bought it. But it's pretty old and was never a top of the line camera to start with and I'm considering starting a little research into what to replace it with myself. But for what it's worth, I'm definitely going to look into buying a Fuji again. I'm not so sold on it that I wouldn't buy another brand, but I'm definitely not turned off on it either.

Eh, that probably wasn't much of a help, sorry.

Thank you, dear. It was helpful... It helps to know you're not turned off on it either.
