She doesn't want to sound ignorant, like with all of the many new concepts she's been encountering, so she quickly adds:] You really don't like steak, huh? [It seems she has misinterpreted what was meant by "torture."]

[ Chie does not see it as a mistake and makes a noise of confirmation before explaining: ] Mmhm! Yeah, it's like those really annoying adverts on television where the song gets stu- [ Wait, what did she say? There is stunned silence after that woeful misinterpretation.

Torture for Chie can be a lot of things: having her precious DVDs destroyed, having Minato throw up on her again, living without Bruce Lee films and not having delicious, illustrious steak to eat. ]

W-What? Is this a joke? I love steak! It's the best food ever!

[Fenimore begins to say] What's a tell-a-vis--? [during that pause before the outburst. Something about singing adverts? What? But she'll move on to the other line of conversation.]

I thought you said--ohh. Having to wait to eat was the hard part. [This is said in a tone of complete understanding.]
