I love that. I love Alex and I can't fathom Mer not being able to eventually forgive him. It's just like him too, to glaze over their issues and act like nothing happened.
The parallels between Mer/Der and Lexie/Mark are great. I've always thought "McSteamy" was Lexie's "McDreamy". And just like Mer, Lexie just keeps waiting for him to "pick her". Not that he doesn't love her and voice that, but he has yet to truly consider her feelings or know where she fits in his life.
Mer/Sadie? Amazing! I love that they were making out and that they had a massive fight. This fits perfectly with the two of them only remembering the good times when they reunited on the show and then slowly drifting apart (because as you've shown here, even then they were entirely different people). I was waiting for this explanation this whole time and it was not disappointing! It certainly would explain why Lexie never gave up on trying to make Mer like her.
