Hello, everyone. We’re back with the second round of ChickFight. Thanks to everyone who voted. It's getting exciting to see who is going to win. We've already had some huge upsets. And I’m really pleased with the turnout. Just a few reminders.

1. You are voting for who you think would win in a fight-not your favorite character. Just keep that in ( Read more... )

Lyra vs Eilonwy :/ -- this one could be quite interesting! They're both pretty scrappy, but, given than Eilonwy is far too practical to be bamboozled by Lyra, I think she might win. Although Pan could be a factor -- Lyra is the only one who is really two fighters for the price of one. Although Pan could be a liability, too, if Eilonwy were to grab him...

Minerva vs Sophie -- still giving it to age and guile.

And Hunter, I think, could take anyone who is not a magic user, so my money is on her in the Mina Harker fight.

I love Mina something fierce but she's not really a fighter (In "Dracula," that is, in "League of Extraordinary Gentleman" she is). She's got some vague telepathic abilities but that's really it. I think Hunter could take her.

Yeah, but Sophie has experience with age and guile.

IDK, this is really a brilliant match-up, they have such a similar vibe.

That is true! (and I did pause to consider that when voting)

I dunno, I just feel like Sophie is too pleasant and easy-going a person to be able to take out someone who is at least her equal, power-wise.

It sort of comes down to being able to visualize McG winning this fight, but not the other way around, though it is a pretty brilliant match-up. (Also, not that they would've even been in the same bracket, even if she'd cleared the preliminaries, but Sophie vs Nanny Ogg would've been quite interesting as well, I feel :P)

Sabriel vs Hermione? I had to go with Sabriel in the end. She's the freakin' Abhorsen, yo - power over life and death!

But I think Hermione's more versatile, which is really valuable in a cage match.

Are we talking 18-year-old Sabriel, or Queen Sabriel? Because I think Hermione might get the drop on an inexperienced Sabriel, and the right hex could end the game right there. But if Sabriel manages to dodge spells until she can draw a bell, then she wins it no contest.

I'm assuming a more experienced Sabriel and giving it to her.

And Karen Healey: Thank you thank you for linking this from your LJ! I only wish I'd got in on it sooner.

Dude, experienced Sabriel could *whistle* and drop Hermione.

Seriously? Hermione vs. Sabriel? C'mon, guys, Sabriel goes into death, raises and puts down zombies, and goes into death to fight a necromancer. Not to mention, saves the world. I know Voldemort is a baddie, but c'mon, he's no Orannis.
