NOMINATIONS POST
This is the 2012 nominations post. This year's theme is Young Adult Fictional Heroines.
Please reply to nominations you agree with "+1" or some other show of support. The 68 young women with the most votes will join the bracket. (And the heroine with the most comments will become the #1 seed, etc.)
If you need help deciding if someone is a "young adult fiction heroine": Only "young adults" who have appeared in novels aimed at "young adults" shall be considered. For example, Minerva McGonagall appears in a young adult novel but is not a young adult herself and thus is ineligible.
If you have questions about who is eligible and who is not, please just ask.
Please follow the following structure for making a nomination:
CHARACTER NAME, < i>Series or Single Title She Appeared In < /i>: First Book of Series
examples:
HERMIONE GRANGER, Harry Potter: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
KATNISS EVERDEEN, The Hunger Games: The Hunger Games.
KRISTY THOMAS, The Baby-Sitter's Club: Kristy's Great Idea.
ETA: Please see the above post for discussion on who is eligible. Any character who does not reach the age of 10 in her book/series is INELIGIBLE but will be part of next year's madness!
