Comment with any ship (romantic or platonic or maybe even non-existent!) from a fandom that you know I have some knowledge about, and I will rant about aforementioned ship. This may be incoherent gushing or exclamations of disgust, depending on your ship of choice.

Hey, everyone else is doing it!

I rarely ever read human/robot fic, and usually only when it's a side pairing and not the whole point of the plot. That said, I like the idea of this pairing. I like friendship-turned-romantic pairings, and the whole alien robot thing makes for good drama.

AGH. I have a love/hate relationship with this pairing. On one hand, I happen to like both Kaiba and Jounouchi. On the other hand...I basically hate the way this pairing is written most of the time.

First of all, WHY THE WHOLE 'PUPPY' THING. I just don't get it. At all. Why dog nicknames?

Second, there seems to be this prevalent dynamic wherein Kaiba remains a total douche with control issues and Jounouchi turns into this needy, extremely stupid, emotional wreck, and somehow this is supposed to be romantic and fluffy.

Also, there are all those abused!Jounouchi fics which either turn all of Jou's friends into morons so Kaiba can save the day, or claim that Jou is more comfortable going to Kaiba for help than people he actually likes. I can buy him not wanting to look weak in front of his friends, but why would Jou want to look weak in front of Kaiba, who he loathes?

There are some really excellent fics for this pairing, but for every one of them there seem to be three which I dislike. Maybe I'm just too picky?

Well picky I am as well. I can understand why an author would want to write weepy!uke Joey, but I'd rather feast on emotionaltrainwreck!Kaiba meets seflmademan/emotionallyreliant!Joey.

Strangely enough, I don't actually love Joey neither Kaiba all that much on their own. (Well, maybe I do find Kaiba extremely interesting).

I agree--I think Jou as a whole is emotionally in better shape than Kaiba.

Bah, I haven't talked to you in so long, I'm going to hope you're still a Prowl/Jazz fan. Rant about it.

Rant?

Huh. I don't know.

I can never find good TF:A fic for this pairing. Except for the stuff by Cyndi. I think there's some human!fic somewhere but otherwise it's all Prowl/Lockdown or Prowl/Bumblebee (which I don't even understand).

Sam and Dean from Supernatural. You were in that fandom, yes?

I am indeed in that fandom! Although I lurk.

I don't like Wincest. Actually, I don't usually read incest, unless it's AU and the pairing is not incest in canon. And sometimes I run into surprise Wincest because people don't warn, which is annoying. And a lot of Wincest is well written, so I feel like I'm missing out.

I have this thing for brothers in fiction, so I prefer to read brotherly fluff instead.

Wincest=incest, I'm guessing. I'm not in the fandom. Tell me about the brotherly dynamics between them that you like or dislike, please.

Ah, sorry.
Wincest is incest between Sam and Dean, or any two members of the Winchester family--but since Sam and Dean are the only ones alive, mostly them.

What I like is the dual role Dean has played in Sam's life, as both brother and to an extent as mother. Their mother was killed when Sam was an infant, and their father dragged them all over the country to hunt the thing that killed her, among other things. Dean and Sam were left alone a lot of the time, and Dean ended up being Sam's caretaker. Their father was more of a drill sergeant than parent at times, and they were never in one place for very long, so they were each other's only real friends. The result is that they're unable to function without each other.

I'm sorry, I'm not usually this incoherent. I've never really thought about this before.
