More of those wacky high school kids

Back at Fletchers today for the third day of the ORU high school sevens tournameont. Today was senior (grades 11 and 12) boys. I did six games and had fun. Again it was a good mix of public, Catholic and private schools from as far away as Bracebridge and Midland. Standard practice amongst the more "experienced" refs around here is to control the game from the somewhere within a box bounded by the two 22s and the 15m lines. It seems to work reasonably well at keeping you from being totally screwed in those sorts of tournaments.

I can see that would work if one had in goal officials or even competent touch judges. Needless to say we had neither so I felt it necessary to get as close to the goal line as possible unless it was a really obvious open break. Actually I didn't find it too demanding. Short bursts of course but not for too long.
