Monty Python and Bel Canto

Inspired by Mr. Persse McGarrigle's celebrated work on the influence of TS Eliot on Shakespeare(1), I am thinking about a similarly scholarly effort documenting the influence of Monty Python on Rossini, Bellini and Verdi.
