Week 5 for the Gates will be split into 2 parts thanks to the fact that there has been a big change for this family! This first part will be about their family life during the week, and the next part will be a special update. You'll find out what it is further into this update, and I'll also give you a sneak peak!
During
week 4 with the Gates, Celia started showing her true romance sim colors and got to know several guy friends pretty intimately. But she also realized how comfortable her life was with Clay Peshterianu (her live-in boyfriend and baby-daddy). At the start of this week, she was as in love with Clay as ever. ACR had them going pretty hot and heavy, and most of her wants were for Clay.
But then she met this guy: Seth Nigel. Together they have a 126 ACR which is one of the highest ones I've had so far. In the attraction relationship panel, Seth is three or four guys ahead of Clay and he's also her top boy toy. Once she met Seth, all the wants for Clay stopped completely.
Celia wanted to take Seth out on a date, so I obliged her. Shortly after their date hit dream status (thanks to that public woohoo in the photobooth!), Celia rolled the want to get engaged to Seth! She is a romance sim, so rolling that want is pretty rare anyway, but what really sealed the deal for me is that in 20 simdays of living with Clay she never once rolled the want to get engaged to him. So I got the picture...Celia was ready to say goodbye to Clay.
She broke the news to him when she got home from the date with Seth. Clay took it pretty well, packed his bags, hugged Sam goodbye, and headed out to the waiting taxi. Sam took it pretty well also. I expected him to cry when his Daddy left the house, but he didn't! He went about his business and hasn't rolled any wants for Clay at all; which is pretty sad because he was always so close to Clay. But I'm pretty sure they'll keep in touch since Clay will be played in a household of his own at the end of the week!
Soon after Clay moved out, Celia invited Seth to move in with her and Sam. He agreed and then surprised us both by having a birthday. Turns out he was a YA... So he's a whole lot younger than Celia, but she's still got 2 weeks or so before she turns into an elder.
Celia didn't waste any time with Seth. She proposed before he even had a chance to get a makeover! Look at that face...pure love!
After letting Seth get a makeover, Celia introduced him to Sam. Sam took to him right away and the two are now pretty good friends.
Being young and frisky, Seth's ACR keeps them pretty busy. But they still find time for some snuggling.
And here's my sneak peak for you. The next update will be a special update all about Celia and Seth's wedding! I originally meant for it to be a part of this update, but I took way too many pictures of the event! So their wedding gets a whole post all of its own.
After the wedding, Celia got a new hair-do. Mainly because I couldn't find her old hairstyle after I changed it for the wedding! But she looks just as good with the new one.
Now for some Sam spam:
Sam was nearing the end of his childhood years, so I couldn't help but take a bunch of shots of him before he grew up. He leaves behind Liam Clock, his childhood friend, but there are plenty of teenagers in Little Hollywick right now for him to hang out with. And Liam will be a teenager pretty soon too, anyway. Also, Sam is the first sim I've had to actually catch a butterfly!
As I said, it was time for Sam's teenager birthday. He grew up on simday 33 and quickly chose Popularity with a secondary Romance for his aspirations. He really takes after his mother Celia, who is a Romance/Popularity. He wants to become a Criminal Mastermind one day, which I'm sure his parents do not approve of. Also, Sam looks very much like his father, Clay.
Sam is a very sporty sim. His favorite hobby is fitness and he's been jumping rope ever since he could walk, so his body skill is extremely high for a sim of his age. The first teenage thing he did was walk on down to Spark Sports Park where he met Susie Dingle. He challenged her to a game of soccer, and she surprised us both by winning! She's a surprisingly good goalie in that leotard, and she's very graceful while diving for the ball. Sam was not amused.
He gave up on trying to beat Susie at soccer, so he took his bruised ego over to the basketball courts where he had much better luck.
He's also fearless on the diving board.
Back at home, all of that woohoo'ing finally took its toll (thank you risky woohoo) and Celia found out that she is pregnant! This made me very happy, and Celia looks pretty happy with it too. But Seth is not happy at all. Sam, on the other hand, is thrilled about finally having a sibling! The baby is due in the beginning of Week 6.
And here's the Gates family after Week 5. The newly pregnant Celia Gates, her new husband Seth, and her handsome teenage son Sam. This family sure did change a lot in just 7 simdays!
---------------------------------------
Random Pictures:
Celia wonders what she got herself into when she sees her new husband playing pirates in the bathtub.
Harmony Clock was actually the one to tell Sam that he was going to be a big brother! She obviously has a big mouth, so don't tell her any secrets!
Sam rolled the want to learn couples counseling. This probably stems from the fact that his parents are now separated. Poor kid...he took it harder than I thought!
But don't feel too bad for Clay. He has had the want to have another baby for a long time now, and Celia was definitely not going to give him one (unless risky woohoo had anything to say about it). He didn't really roll wants for her anymore, and they were getting a little boring to play because they just didn't have anything to do with each other (unless ACR made them interact). So Clay will become a playable in his own right and he'll be tacked onto the end of Week 5 to be played after the Lightfoot family.

Gameplay Notes:
--Playables vs. Non-playable Playables. So this seems like a good time to bring this new "rule" up. I was tired of the same townies running around for all of the generations to interact with, so I've made a new "rule" for myself. Any townie that is involved romantically with a playable sim will become playable as well. If they break up with that sim before moving in/getting married/etc, then they will become a Non-playable Playable. This means that I will play them, but I won't post about them. I'll age them up to keep consistent with the other residents and I will most likely let them get married and have kids of their own, but they won't be posted about on a regular basis. If the townie moves in with or marries a playable and then breaks up later, that townie will become a full-fledged playable sim because they've earned that right and we've probably gotten pretty attached to them already.
--Child and teenaged friends of playables that make it into the updates will also become Non-playable Playables and age the same as their playable friends.
--So because of this new rule, Clay will get the chance to live a life of his own. Maybe he'll finally get married and have more babies!
--This also means that Rebecca Carr (the evil witch that
Harvey Dingle is involved with) will become a Non-playable Playable, and get the chance to lead a real life except you won't see updates about her unless I give a quick sneak peak into what's happening with her. Same goes for all of the townie boyfriend/girlfriends of the
Clock kids, except you'll most likely see them in college with the playable kids that they dated.
