And honestly I liked seasons six and seven. Yes, it turned darker - but realistically, by then it had to. Buffy had outlived any other slayer for decades by then. It didn't make sense that all the scoobies make it to the end alive, that they never really screw up. Buffy'd made her romantic mistakes - it was Xander's turn, and Willow's, and so on. They're all human, and the choices and fuckups and all that - were human and IC and logical progressions of all that had gone before.

Spike is the only ficitonal film character whose death Marirose has cried over. I didn't, which was a surprise, since I am known as a sentimental drip and at the video store I frequently hear "This sounds really good. . . but it's going to make Mom cry."
