Reading through old works

I've been reading through old translations that I've done these past two years and my God, I suck at translating literature. I'm just too literal in my translations to make it work in my target language, it just messes up the flow, and it's like I forget that commas exist!
To top it off, I haven't read proper literature in Swedish in forever and it ( Read more... )

Practice makes perfect! I was the same with the things I do, even writing English. When I look back at my older entries I laugh at how much bad it was!! xD

Also this reminds me of my college written projects. I remember one that was at that time difficult for me and I felt proud doing it back then. But now I can't help it but laugh at the way it looks and how it's not as good as what I do now. xD

But as long as you take that in by keeping track of what are your weaknesses and how much it improved means that you're on the right path! Even if you don't get to translate perfectly, the experience that you're yet to gain will come in handy later on. ^^

Omg, don't even get me started on my early writings in English. I actually blush whenever I have the misfortune of reading them *_*

Hihi, I thought I'd be too lazy to put up gifs today, but this calls for it! :D
