I am under no false impressions regarding my talent *ahem* with graphics, but I was inspired by citron_presse's icons posted yesterday, and, probably more importantly, I was bored and needed something to do!! And so, ICONS! I made some!!

I'm at uni, but have just discovered my swipe card to get into my office isn't working. I've applied to have it re-set, but that's via email and so could take hourrsssss. Clearly my only option here is to purchase a chai latte (done) and sit in my car listening to Mumford & Sons, writing fanfic BY HAND!

I love that bottom row of icons in particular - pretty!! We both clearly love the same cap of Severide and Shay!

We both clearly love the same cap of Severide and Shay! Clearly we have impeccable taste! Though your icon is much fancier than my attempt! It's hard enough for me to a) find the screencaps, b) SAVE the screencaps, c) add some layers and fiddle with them a bit, d) alter the contrast, e) alter the colour. Then, that's me done! Haha! #novice. But at least I'm trying, hey?!

I think simple icons are often the best - I'm not too fond of the recent trend of heavily textured icons. And you've got some nice crops here, so that's one of the most important things mastered.

Renee really grew on me! And despite the fact it all happened so fast (episode-wise), I did get the feeling she was genuinely into Kelly and cared about him A LOT. Which is more than can be said about the other three relationships/hook ups we've seen him engage in with Nikki (who was in it for the prestige/kink ie. how she wouldn't let him take the fireman's hat off), Anna (where he was basically prostituting himself and where consent was questionable), and Corinne (one night stand). Not to mention the first Renee, who clearly did a number on him ( ... )

Yes, that was what got me too. They moved way too fast (which is a bit of a problem with this show when it comes to some plotlines) but I really liked the actress, her character and the way Kelly and Renee genuinely seemed to like each other and like you said, cared about each other.

Also, kinda side note, it's super weird for me to like a male character who is a genuine 'good guy'!
Haha. Did they sneakily lure you in by making you think he'd be the typical "bad boy"? Because I have to say, when I was watching the pilot that's what I thought he'd be. But it turned out that while he's certainly flawed, he's also a totally kind-hearted squishy and I love him.

What I mostly wanted to say was, I am SO jealous of your icon making skills!
Aww, thank you! :) But I swear, beyond some basics, it's mostly just sheer luck! I throw away so much more than I keep.

I'm pretty sure what lured me in, as far as Kelly is concerned, is Taylor Kinney's FAAAACE and my residual Mason Lockwood love! Haha! There's pretty much nothing they could have done with Kelly Severide that would have had me turning off him as a character. I AM SHALLOW LIKE THAT, OKAY?!!

he's also a totally kind-hearted squishy and I love him. THISSSSSS.
