Dude, I lived in NY for years....it really is the best pizza. I had gigio's, and it's totally good. My friend ordered it and she's from here so it was cut in squares, but next time i'm gonna get it sliced so i can have a good ole fold up slice of pepperoni....yum.

there is a new place on Ashland at Addison (I think) that just opened that claims to have NY style pizza. I haven't been but I drive by it every day.

Aaaa, this place is so good. I eat here at least once a week, they cut it into triangles.

Yess, I was going to comment about Pizzaco's.

I'm all for the thin crust cheese pizza with a sweet sauce. If this sounds appealing, try checking out Pete's Pizza. It's a place that in 30 years went from a tiny little shack to owning pretty much half a block. They have a giant dining room and their pizza is my favourite. It's on Western in between Grace and Addison (across from Waveland Bowl)so you are most likely in their delivery range. If not, go and eat there to try it out. I'm sure they'd pie the cuts for you if asked.

Noli's in Albany Park is the closest I've found in my three+ years in Chicago after living on the east coast and missing "New York Style" like crazy.

I have to say, Piece in Wicker Park isn't in the style but it's still good for thin crust--not the crispy cracker crap that I hate and that most places serve. Yuck.

I grew up in Connecticut and it took me years here to find a couple of pizza places I like. I've found a number of places that serve "thin" pizza only to find it's about as thick as a freezer-aisle pizza.

That being said, here's the places I love:

- Philly's Best - 907 W. Belmont (close to red line Belmont stop) and 2436 N. Milwaukee in Chicago; 815 Emerson in Evanston. Comes in slices, definitely foldable, and just really reminds me of pizzas from home. They deliver pretty much anywhere on the north side; I don't know about west/northwest areas. They also have a location opening in Greektown early this year. I really like their crust, which has a slight edge over my other favorite pizza place:

- Villa Palermo, 2154 W Devon Ave, (773) 598-5124. I don't remember if they cut in slices or squares, though. This location is more take-out than restaurant; there's only a few booths in the place. Always busy. Some people think the counter service is rude here but it just reminds me of the back-East Italian pizza joints.

I also like Gino... )
