IDK yet, I'm still processing. Something about Matt's tone on that line sounded really...flippant? to me. Kind of like the Doctor was annoyed at being asked this question right now and invented a number in response. IDK IDK I might be reading things into it.
I never expected them to hold fast to the 13-lives limit in any case, but something about that scene was...weirdly off.
Yeah I thought it sounded like he was just saying it for Clyde's sake, like to shut him up, but then again, Moffat already said it's going to be canon...a game changer....but why have the "game changer" be a one off line in a spin-off....so like you...I'm kinda "Hmm" about it.
I see WHY they needed to do it...but if it is real, what's the significance of 507 regenerations and also, why was it never spoken of before and once again WHY was it in a one off episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures and NOT in an actual DW episode?
Yesss. It does make sense to throw away the regen limit, but it doesn't make sense to do it as a facetious one-liner in a (sadly) less-popular spin-off.

For future seasons of SJA, they should just bring back a different classic Companion every episode. It won't matter if it makes sense or not because the sheer happy will overwhelm the audience. ♥♥♥
