A few posts back astropixie and I were discussing our respective "lists of things we want but will not get from Doctor Who".

I finally got around to writing down mine, so here it is. ...I probably forgot a couple things off it, but y'know. If I kept it on my hard drive until I was sure I remembered everything, I'd never post it.

fifteen items of hopeless dreaming )

they're not writing it for me, fandom, doctor who

Yes yes yes! Especially on companion teams, no more Doctor as romantic lead OR angstiest angster that ever angsted, and less of a focus on contemporary Earth (both in terms of storylines and companions). I hopes I hopes I hopes. I do have high hopes for the Moff though...

Don't let us down, Moff!!!

He seems to like alien planets, though. So I have Hopes. :D

I AGREE WITH ALL THESE THINGS!!!

Ever since I started watching Old Who, all I've wanted is for the Doctor to have multiple companions again. Also everything else you said is absolutely true and I will dream along with you.

Companion teams are the best. Virtually all my favorite eras of Doctor Who include plural Companions. ♥♥

They're great! Not only does it lessen the likelihood of romantic tension between the Doctor and his companion but it provides so many additional story opportunities.

This is a great idea! I have something to say about number five, but it's SLIGHTLY spoilery. I don't know much, but I don't know if you want to be spoiled even minutely. I don't want to ruin anything about the new season... (I hope I've hinted enough already, so maybe you can figure it out.)

I agree with so many of these, especially the sonic screwdriver one. Five wasn't bad without it. I love Five. I'd like to see what happens.

I'd love to make one of these myself...

I LOVE SPOILERS. I live spoilers. I breathe spoilers. I am, in fact, a spoiler whore.

If you are referring to what I think you're referring to re: number 5, I've heard vague rumors to that effect but nothing from a reputable source. Is a reputable source saying it? *would love that*

You totally should! I'd love to see other people's wishlists. <3

Supposedly, there is going to be an episode that takes place entirely in the TARDIS and involves an alien entity attacking the TARDIS from inside out. There is a spoiler forum on a site called Gallifrey Base (formerly Gallifrey One), which I'm told is the premiere site for all Doctor Who discussion. I'm a member and go there from time to time for news/spoilers. The sources who feed into the site have been about 97% right since I've been a member in late 2006. They were the ones who first broke the news about Journey's End and all of the returning stars MONTHS before anyone knew anything. I would consider it to be fairly reputable from their track record.

I will gather my thoughts and see what I can come up with for my own list. :)

I really really really hope this is true. :D :D :D I've heard good things about GB's spoiler sources, but I've heard enough bad things about the rest of the forum not to bother creating my own account. But OMG TARDIS EPISODE. YAY.

Most of these I am behind as you know we have slightly different views regarding this show, but even though I loved the Doctor/Rose storyline I do not want to see the Doctor loved up with every companion either.

Also I would like to see more new aliens, I do LOVE the Daleks and have no big objections here, but you can have too much of a good thing, I don't want my love of Daleks to be ruined by over use.

And of course I totally want to see more of the Tardis she's supposed to be huge, let us see for ourself s.

Not sure about 3. As for 9 I think we might get it.

What I would love to see that isn't on this list is Sally Sparrow, tell me we at least agree on this? What I don't want to see and I'm not sure where you stand on this either, is more River Song she just totally annoyed me. I hope they do something less annoying and less 'Surprise! I'm the Doctors wife' with her do you think i can have this?

I'd love the Daleks to be scaled back a little. I would never want them to be done away with completely, they're very integral to the show, but I think they work best when they're not the default baddies. When they pop up every couple of weeks, they lose some of their scare factor. And Daleks should always be scary.

I would LOVE a Sally Sparrow return. I love her so much. And I'm rooting for interesting River storylines -- I'm not going to lie, I like her an awful lot and think there's a lot of interesting things they can do with her in the future. I hope they do more than just reduce her down to a love interest.

Well at least we agree on the Sally Sparrow bit. If they do do an interesting River Song storyline, I might start to like her more I'm just not holding my hopes up.

1. I’d love to have three companions again, if the writers could balance it. You know, more of One’s era than Five’s.

2. Yes, please. I really, really loved that romance was not a major part of Doctor Who, like it is in, you know, most things ever. It was refreshing. And if he’s going to flirt, let him flirt with everyone.

3. HELL YES. Rebel Doctor > > > Lonely God Doctor.

4. What I wouldn’t give for an alien companion.

5. It boggles my mind that people consider Edge of Destruction boring.

6. One reason I’m happy that we got Moffat!

13. The thing that bugged me most about Gridlock was that anyone who happened to have that technology could have solved the problem.

14. Or a physically disabled companion. That would be nice, too. And you know the Doctor would trick out anything they used. Hovering wheelchairs, canes that shoot lasers!

A physically disabled companion would be awesome. Oh yes. And I can just imagine the Doctor having the time of his life tricking out his companion's mobility aids. While the companion comes out with more and more outlandish things that could be done.

"Could you fit my chair with GUN CANNONS?"
"NO. STOP ASKING."
