Iruka turned, examining his ass in the full-length mirror. He hated festival season. It was tradition to wear a kimono or yukata, and he always looked foolish in them. Everyone assured him he looked fine, but the clothes hid his butt while accentuating his hips. Kakashi assured him this was a good thing. Iruka just thought it made him look like a girl. He already had enough trouble with people underestimating him without associating his appearance with a womanly figure.
He sighed, pulling off the belt tie and tossing the damn outfit on the bed. This was ridiculous. Maybe he could get away with not going. It’s not like Naruto was around to go with him, and Kakashi would just spend the whole time ogling his rump. He could do that perfectly well at home thank you. And if he stayed home he could actually enjoy said rump ogling instead of having to deal with Kakashi all wound up without any outlet. The man was fun frustrated and horny but only for so long, about five minutes.
“You ready yet?” Kakashi called from the other room. Iruka could hear the excited bounce in his voice from here. If he didn’t know better he’d say Kakashi’s hormones were permanently stuck in the teenager’s stage.
“No, do we have to go?”
Kakashi peeped inside, checking if it was safe before kneeling at Iruka’s feet, already dressed and waiting to go. “We don’t have to if you don’t want to.” He rubbed a knee reassuringly, fingers itched to crawl up and push aside that underwear, but he behaved himself.
“No one takes me seriously when I wear one of those things.” Iruka gestured to the rumpled outfit on the bed. “Even Genma doesn’t fear me.” Genma was usually terrified of him. After getting the chuunin drunk and trying to have his way with him and nearly getting his nuts cut off, Genma had a very healthy fear of the sensei when angered.
“Genma would if you pulled out a kunai.” Kakashi tried to cheer Iruka up, gentle reassurance morphing to sensual pet.
Iruka rubbed Kakashi’s shoulder. He felt a bit better with the man there. “I don’t want to wander around dripping weapons though. It’s a festival, not a mission.” Iruka sighed.
“You don’t have to wear a yukata if you don’t want.” Kakashi liked the yukata, but he could always get Iruka to put it on special for him later.
“But it’s tradition.”
“So is eating the heart of your enemy when you defeat him, but Gai and I both still have our hearts. Well, Gai has his. I gave mine to you a long time ago.” Kakashi smiled up at Iruka who smiled back down at him.
“I love you.” Iruka ran a hand slowly through Kakashi’s hair.
“Love you too, Ruka.” Kakashi kissed his knee affectionately. “Now, let’s find you something to wear?” He stood up, hands staying at Iruka’s skin as long as possible.
“Alright.” Iruka stood, hugging Kakashi close. “Love you.”
“You said that.”
Iruka hit him. “Bastard.” He smiled, moving to the closet. “Help me find an outfit over here.”
Kakashi came up behind him, wrapping his arms around Iruka’s waist and giving useless suggestions. They were a good hour and a half late to the opening of the festival, but no one noticed, or if they noticed, they didn’t care.
