Carrots, parsnips, celery, and potatoes - all bought at the farmer's market and meticulously peeled and cut by yours truly and my friend Tina. After the stuff was boiled in chicken bouillon forever, I drained it a bit and mashed the stuff up as best I could without a blender, and then added (too much) cream and experimental spices until it tasted GOOD. I believe the spices included cayenne, paprika, ginger, brown sugar, thyme, salt and pepper....er, maybe some others, I was experimenting ^_^ But the key spice was this stuff called Lawrys which you can get at Trader Joes -- it's like seasoned salt that acts as a flavor enhancer.
In the end I overdid it on the cayenne and maybe the lawrys, but it was still delicious for, especially for a first try. *preens* :-)
