"Easier than normal" fails to adequately describe Raid Finder.

Got my first Deathwing kill tonight with a group of total goddamn fail-raiders. O_o

I was one of the only five people in a 25-man raid to survive the final phase and down Deathwing himself. Both tanks down, one healer still alive, and we still got it. I shouldn't bitch (I got Kiril, Fury of Beasts out of it, which should do me until I can get ( Read more... )

Okay, so you know that scene in Finding Nemo? It goes like this:

Crush: Okay. Squirt here will now give you a rundown of proper exiting technique.
Squirt: Good afternoon. We're gonna have a great jump today. Okay, first crank a hard cutback as you hit the wall. There's a screaming bottom curve, so watch out. Remember: rip it, roll it, and punch it.
Marlin: It's like he's trying to speak to me, I know it.
[to Squirt]
Marlin: Look, you're really cute, but I can't understand what you're saying. Say the first thing again.

That's what it felt like for me, reading your post. *grin* I think it is very obvious that I'm not an online gaming person - it's like you were speaking a different language. *laugh*

All that being said - It does sound frustrating to have people who don't take rules and common courtesy into account when playing with other people. I hope you can get the situation worked out in a positive way - whether that means becoming the group leader or not. *nod*

You read that whole thing even though you don't play World of Warcraft? Man, I'm not sure whether to apologize or thank you - that game really does have its own damn language that only looks enough like English to make things confusing.

What I'm stressing over pretty much boils down to the usual stress and drama than comes with any large group project, plus the natural ability scaling that's attached to any game that requires a modicum of skill, with some trolling on top. Raid Finder's a new thingie World of Warcraft just came out with that lets you join a random raid group for a toned-down version of the newest raid. As always with any group of 25 random people, some of them will suck, some of them will be cool, and some of them are there solely to make your life hell. The group I had tonight was full of mostly the first and last categories.

ahahahaah....raiding fail. I hear you. Basic raid skills are dying out, clearly. And Personal Responsibility? What's that? This is AMURRICA. We don't need dat shit here. *huge eyeroll*

Oh, seriously? That's why we have Deathwing's jaw in Org? from LFR?! *facepalm* That SUCKS. I had no idea it was that hacked down. Wow. I regret even less my decision to step away from raiding after our getting Rags on farm. *facepalms twice*

I pretty sure you don't get the jaw-chunk unless you clear it on regular. I know ours didn't show up until Pariah got him down on reg...which still took them all of three days. :/ I expect Heroic will be soul-rapingly hard, since that seems to be the usual trend nowadays (regular is sorta easy, Hardmode boggles the damn mind). But yeah, LFR is so dumbed down that Deathwing doesn't even do Barrel Rolls. It's a good way to get a look at most of the mechanics and the gear that drops is all right, but it definitely leads to you wanting more out of it.
