Title: To Want Unknowingly

Pairing/Characters: Charles, Erik,
Summary: Erik has bruises and a busted lip from a fight. Charles provides him with frozen vegetables and concern.
Notes: Modern AU in which Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr are best friends since childhood.

( Over the years, Erik has become better at ignoring what anyone says about himself, but if anyone crosses a certain line when speaking about Charles, all bets are off. )

I was just thinking how much I love pining and how little pining fic there is in this fandom. And this isn't quite pining yet, but I love the lead up to pining almost as much as pining itself ♥

Like pocky said. I love the prolonged, unarticulated, unexamined longing. I like that you don't hit us over the head with any physical attraction between them (yet). Erik's mad smile was cute and so him.

Thank you! For now I think I'm going to stick to it being somewhat non-linear moments out of time, but there will be some longer parts, too.

I only just discovered this was a 'verse, and a very lovely one at that.

I love Erik's protectiveness and Charles being both angry and worried (and no doubt irritated that Erik will never tell him why Erik is fighting with Shaw). I really like the slow build to their relationship, with them both wanting one another but not quite going there yet. Definitely look forward to more :)

Yeah, Charles gets rather frustrated with Erik sometimes in those regards, but he knows it comes with the territory.
