Yearning of The Heart - Chapter 5

It's Sunday and as promised, YooChun arrived with his boyfriend. YunHo had expressed his hesitation to come early, afraid the old man might do something sneaky with that few people around.

"Hello. Hello. You must be JunSu. Nice to meet you" KyoMin greeted right after he opened the door. YooChun had to give his father a thumbs up for dressing well today.

"Nice to meet you too, Mr Park" JunSu said while shaking his hand but KyoMin pulled him into a hug - a friendly father and son hug.

"Please, call me Leo. Everyone does"

YooChun raised his eyebrow and tried to dig out the word 'Leo' and 'everyone'. JunSu was too overwhelmed with the hug that he had failed to notice the puzzled look on his boyfriend's face.

"Okay...Leo"

"Come on in. You'll catch your death of cold out there" KyoMin stepped backwards to let the couple into the warm cozy home.

YooChun was still in a puzzle mode as he tried to communicate with his father using his eyes, but he should have known, that the Parks weren't very keen with the idea of telepathy so right after his father closed the door, YooChun discreetly grabbed his father's arm to have a little talk.

"Make yourself at home, JunSu. We'll be there in a second" YooChun said sweetly.

"Okay" JunSu nodded as he stepped into the living room.

"I've got some snacks in the kitchen" KyoMin later said, with YooChun pushing him into the kitchen.

"It's fine, Leo. No rush" JunSu informed as he took a seat on the couch while admiring the simple but heartwarming decoration.

Once in the kitchen, YooChun stood next to his dad who was busy preparing some baked bread and corn soup to go with as an appetizer.

"He looks nice" KyoMin commented as he stirs the soup with one hand and the other was being held on.

"Thank you" YooChun said.

"Why are you holding my arm?"

"Leo?" YooChun questioned.

"You don't like it?" KyoMin asked innocently.

"Who has ever called you Leo?"

"Nobody. I just thought it was time I had a nickname"

"And you gave yourself one?" YooChun asked in disbelief.

KyoMin went ahead to say after a brief pause. "Sure"

"Appa, you're sixty years old. Isn't it a little too late in the game to be doing things like that?"

YooChun tried to reason and before he could continue 'nagging', they both heard the door bell rang. KyoMin pulled his arm away and continue preparing dinner, urging his son to open the door. YooChun uttered a 'we will talk later' to him and walked out to see JunSu looking at him cutely, making the writer instantly forgot what was the topic he needs to discuss seconds ago.

YooChun opened the door to see his brother and his husband standing by the porch.

"Hey, didn't expect to see you here so early" ChangMin said as KiBum snuggled closer to him, and oh how YooChun envied them.

"Figured I'd let JunSu get settled in with appa before everyone gets here" YooChun said as he invited them in and helped to hang up their coats.

"So he's already here?" ChangMin asked.

"In the living room" YooChun blushed as he replied.

"Who's everyone? Somebody else coming?" KiBum asked curiously.

"YunHo-hyung's coming" ChangMin replied and YooChun was surprised.

"How'd you know?"

"Appa called me right after you left on Wednesday. He rambled on for about an hour"

"About what?"

"He said he was letting YunHo-hyung in the house for the sake of his future name. You pull the 'HeeChul' stunt, didn't you?" ChangMin smirked at his brother for threatening their old man.

+=+=+=+=+=

It's been a whole thirty minutes and YooChun was glad that his family was getting along with JunSu, just like he knew they would. They talked about his job, about how he met YooChun and ChangMin took the revenge as how YooChun did when he brought KiBum back for the first time, by revealing all the bad deeds YooChun did to him all through their growing up days. It wasn't all pleasant and YooChun could have sworn his brother was born to humiliate him, but JunSu managed to cheer him up with his squeaking laughter that brought more laughter to the quiet house.

And his dad, like any parent showered JunSu with more baby photos of naked YooChun and the whole stories he could remember.

"You are all horrible people" YooChun muttered.

"But you're so cute" JunSu said, pointing to one photo that has YooChun in a diaper.

"Oh believe me JunSu-hyung, he was anything but cute" ChangMin said and YooChun had to shut him up by throwing a cushion at him.

"I'm glad you could make it, JunSu-hyung. It's nice to have someone around for a change" KiBum said, cuddling closer to his husband.

"Oh, and what are we to you? Dummy?" KyoMin said, wanting to join the fun. "You don't enjoy the company of THREE handsome young men?"

"That's not what I meant" KiBum added rather quickly. He didn't want to spoil the whole cheerful scene they were having. Sensing KiBum was a little dashed, ChangMin figured he should butt in.

"No, he meant he doesn't enjoy the company of TWO handsome young men and a dried up old prune"

"Nice one" YooChun commented and they raised up their hands to do an air high-fived. Both brothers assured their love that the old man will be fine.

Indeed KyoMin was fine, he was enjoying it. It's not everyday his house was this loud and his sons bickering at one another. He was happy actually, and an idea popped up in his mind.

"Speaking of prunes, I'll be back. Please hold down the kitchen, ladies. And by ladies, I mean the brothers" KyoMin said as he stood up to make his way to the stairs.

"I'll burn your food" ChangMin said.

"It would probably taste better if you did" KyoMin drawled, laughing as he disappeared to get into his wine cellar.

"Are you sure he's -"

"He's fine, JunSu. He never laughed like that in the longest time" YooChun assured him when the door bell rang again. "That's probably YunHo"

KiBum and JunSu looked at each other than to their other half, none of them were moving. Puzzled, ChangMin asked. "So go answer it"

"It's your turn. I got it when you showed up" YooChun pointed to his brother.

"It's your friend" ChangMin argued.

"Like you don't know him" YooChun said, rolling his eyes. He got up reluctantly, hid the extra cushion he was holding to smother ChangMin before running towards the door.

And he was surprised to see JaeJoong. "Hey, JaeJoong. Didn't expect to see you here"

"YunHo asked me to come along. Says he couldn't find a good hammer and needed protection. I hope you don't mind"

"No. Not at all. Where is he?" YooChun asked, looking out the yard.

"I'm right here" YunHo replied, as he came out of his hiding place, behind a pine tree.

"You don't have to go that far, right?" YooChun shouted, waving his hand to signal his friend to come out of his hiding place.

"Care to explain?" JaeJoong asked curiously.

"Let's get inside"

+=+=+=+=+=

"Hey, YunHo-hyung" ChangMin greeted.

"ChangMin, KiBum, this is JaeJoong"

"I didn't know you were coming" JunSu said.

"He's my bodyguard" YunHo said and it earned him snorts from the two brothers.

"I still don't understand this bodyguard thing" JaeJoong emitted. He was deeply confused when he received a call from YunHo telling him that the 'date' was cancelled and they have to drive all the way uptown to have dinner with YooChun's family.

"YunHo's afraid of my dad" YooChun explained.

"Why?"

"Because when me and YooChun were kids, I drank a whole bottle of -" YunHo didn't get to finish as he heard a very loud thump from the basement and there stood a very angry man.

"My one time fine soju collection" KyoMin said as he took a swing at YunHo with a bottle.

Luckily, YunHo was able to dodge and the bottle hit the wall behind him. "Help! Help!"

Seeing how dangerous their old man was, YooChun and ChangMin held on to each of his arms. ChangMin was struggling to snatch another bottle from his father's tight grip while YooChun used all his might to restrain him from hurling another at YunHo.

"What are you doing?" YooChun shouted.

"I need my revenge. Let me go! Let me go!" KyoMin shouted.

"Give me that bottle" ChangMin pried the bottle from his hands and YunHo jumped up almost immediately.

"A-ha!"

Clearly it was a wrong move as the old man lifted his leg to kick YunHo in the balls. YooChun and ChangMin then let go of their father and went over to attend the injured man.

KyoMin was of no mercy and like he had won a wrestling competition, raised his arms in victory. KiBum told JunSu to stay still while he ran over into the kitchen.

"The day is mine!" KyoMin cheered.

"Are you okay?" YooChun asked his friend.

"My...balls. He kicked....hard!" That's all YunHo managed to say as he rolled into a ball.

The brothers helped YunHo to his feet and sat him on the couch. KiBum returned with a cup of hot cocoa and handed it to YunHo. "Here, drink this"

Frustrated was clearly shown on YooChun's face as he turned around to face his father. "What is wrong with you?"

"I got my revenge!" KyoMin laughed.

"Revenge for what?"

"Drinking my soju collection"

"Are you serious? That's what all of this is about?"

"You're damn right it is"

"You're pathetic"

"The only thing that's pathetic is the fact that I didn't have you bring him here sooner"

YooChun didn't want to continue this pointless argument any further and he knew his love life was pretty doomed when he saw JunSu's stunned face - he still stand rooted to the ground like where he was minutes before - but he has to deal with this problem before any more catastrophe. He groaned, like always, Boa's plan never was good.

"Alright, alright. Why don't you just lighten up a little bit there, Leo?" YooChun asked as he ushered his dad to stand further inside.

"Leo?" ChangMin asked with a brow raised.

"Appa tried to tell JunSu his name was Leo. Apparently it's real hip with the old folks to give himself a ridiculous nickname" YooChun explained, knew JunSu was going to end their relationship after this - he had nothing to lose now.

"Oh, that's nothing. Appa told KiBum his name was Scorpio"

"Oh God, I forgot all about that" KiBum added.

"After that kick to my jewel, he should change his name to 'Bruce Lee'" YunHo pointed out in. He's now relaxed a little.

"YunHo-hyung, you picked the perfect day to come to dinner. Most people don't find out how crazy our family is for weeks, maybe even months. You're very lucky" ChangMin drawled.

YooChun frowned once ChangMin finished his statement. Yeah, lucky indeed. After tonight, he may have to switch back being single for having such a dysfunctional family. He sighed and turned to JunSu who was spotted with a smile as he walked towards him.

"I knew I was lucky the moment I met YooChun" JunSu said and shocked YooChun; and almost everyone when JunSu kissed him.

"That's funny. I usually have the opposite thought when someone spills hot stuff on me" YunHo muttered under his breath.

Seeing everyone was concentrating on the new love birds, KyoMin took this opportunity to snatch YunHo's half-filled hot cocoa and aimed at YunHo's crotch.

"Oh my God! Oh my God!" YunHo screamed. "My balls on fire! My balls on fire!"

"Gee, appa" YooChun muttered but made no attempt to help YunHo. He continued exploring JunSu's mouth right in the center of the living room.

+=+=+=+=+=

"So, how long have you two been married?" JunSu asked as they sat around the dinner table.

"A week and a day now" KiBum said proudly.

"You might as well ask ChangMin and he probably would have said forever and a day" YunHo said which earned him a slice of ham right in the face.

"Mind your mouth" KyoMin warned. If it weren't for YooChun's threat, the elder would have strangled the young man to death.

"Damn, old man. Your aim is incredible"

"It's your big mouth that's incredible"

JaeJoong tapped his forehead as he remembered something. "JunSu, I’m sorry. I forgot to remind you to call your parents"

"Oh, I remembered to call them. They were happy to hear I’m dating somebody. Maybe they’ll get off of my back now"

"Oh, you too, huh?" YooChun snorted.

"What's that supposed to mean?" KyoMin diverted his attention to his older son.

"Your constant nagging almost drove me insane"

"That's over exaggerate"

"He did almost kill KyuHyun at my wedding" ChangMin reminded.

"And that's my fault?" KyoMin directed the other end of the fork to himself.

"Kind of?" YooChun shrugged his shoulders.

"Well maybe if you didn’t act like a little girl I wouldn’t have nagged you. I knew I should have toughened you up more" KyoMin said.

"You could have thrown hot cocoa in his crotch or some ham in his face. You seem to be pretty good at that" YunHo suggested absentmindedly.

The table froze. ChangMin sent a message to YooChun through his eyes and both agreed that they have to spend some time teaching YunHo how to chew up words to their old man. KyoMin glared at YunHo momentarily before lunging at him. YunHo let out a girlish scream - enough to wake the whole neighbourhood.

+=+=+=+=+=

"Feel like doing anything?"

YooChun turned to see JunSu looking back at him. They bid farewell to ChangMin and KiBum, who left early; then YunHo and JaeJoong minutes after; and JunSu suggested to take a stroll down the street where he lived to relax. He had to admit that he was underestimating JunSu's innocence because he really thought he'll be single after tonight. It didn't and it made YooChun loves him even more.

"Sure" YooChun answered.

"What are you thinking?"

"Without hope or agenda...to me, you're perfect" YooChun said and he was left wondering when JunSu put his hand on his mouth.

"You just quoted 'Love Actually'!" JunSu gasped.

"It's my favourite movie" YooChun exclaimed.

"Mine too!" JunSu squealed happily.

"I have it at my place....if you feel like watching?"

"Sure! I'm dying to watch it again and....maybe you can spill some more hot coffee on me" JunSu teased and planted a small kiss on YooChun's lips.

"You liked that, huh?" YooChun wrapped his arms around JunSu's waist.

"Must be some weird fetish I've developed"
