Beautiful You - Chapter 19

It had been 5 hours. 300 minutes since SinHye had broken free from unconsciousness. 300 minutes of pure torture as he remained still on his seat, not having muttered a single word to anyone, not after what he heard from SinHye.

The girl had told them about what actually happened that day and although YooChun succeeded in shutting her up from continuing, he couldn't stop her from telling everyone in the room about JunSu.

She told them about how JunSu had involved in a school fight with a senior after the latter said mean things about his then disabled sister. The fight had landed JunSu in the hospital with a very badly injured neck which caused him his vocal cord thus, turning him from someone normal to someone with speech disorder. He was 15.

JunSu went on his life being mute. He was alright about it, receiving expected rejections from people along the way were difficult to bear but it was alright. He practiced speaking at home but never really succeeded in pronouncing the right word so he gave up. He really thought he'll remain that way, until he met someone. Someone worthy.

YooChun listened as he swallowed past the forming lump in his throat and blinked a few times, a useless attempt to keep the stinging tears from rolling down his cheeks. But, his sight was blurry when he heard his name mentioned.

"He tried! He really tried! He didn't want to lie to you but he wasn't ready. He attended some classes to improve his pronunciation. Because he wanted you to hear him speak. He wanted to speak to you, to tell you stories without going through all the trouble writing. He wanted to say he loves you......in love with you."

The moment SinHye uttered that, YooChun could barely hold in the sobs and left the room abruptly.

“Are you okay?” Brian asked, bringing him out of his crushing spiral.

YooChun looked up at his concerned friends and merely nodded.

"We're going home. Do you need anything?"

YooChun shook his head.

"YooChun, if you need anything, call us, okay?" JaeJoong asked softly.

YooChun nodded as he watched his two friends gave him another sympathetic look and walked away reluctantly.

He was the only one that remained at the hospital. ChangMin was at the police station to call off the charges filed against the siblings. Mrs Park, following SinHye’s request, had gone home. JunJin was nowhere after leaving SinHye's room.

YooChun couldn't quite yet figure out where he could go but he knew he couldn't stay there. He was barely breathing as he looked around, biting his lower lip, tasting the salty tears that glistened along with it.

He wanted to say he loves you......in love with you.

YooChun's tears continued flowing as the words kept repeating. He stood up and began walking away from SinHye's room, quickly speeding up his pace. He had no idea of where he was heading as he took the emergency stairs and headed to the upper level.

He didn't know how to react when he suddenly felt himself come to a stop and stood still in the middle of the currently empty emergency hall. He was at the place where he ended everything he had to do with JunSu.

'How ironic?' He thought bitterly, to actually ended up in the place where his heart was broken for the first time.

YooChun stopped at a spot, a spot right beside the bench, the same spot JunSu landed after receiving a blow from him. He recalled the moment. He recalled the moment so perfectly, that he could actually feel his chest tighten like it did back then. It was heartbreaking to have hit his lover until he was fully unconscious but he wasn't thinking straight and he was furious and it was not intentional.

....he loves you......in love with you.

The thought that he had lost JunSu re-entered his brain and broke down. He couldn't live without JunSu. Who was he lying to when he told everyone about JunSu being a nobody? But the fact that he hadn't heard anything about JunSu after the incident, brought another wave of tears. He loved JunSu so much, so much he would actually do anything for him. Be it steal, kill or even die. He was happy they had become closer over the past few months, and radiated happiness when the angel accepted his proposal. His stomach had flipped when JunSu smiled at him for his comment about the poems.

......in love with you.

YooChun dropped to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably. From the nurses counter, the composer looked either hurt, or maybe even insane. But the truth, he was just broken. His mind went numb with pain and he screamed. His fist was against the cold hard floor as screams of sorrow became louder. After turning his pain into anger and draining it away, he placed both his bleeding hands next to his knees and cried. The bittersweet moisture of his tears kept pouring down as he mumbled incoherently.

In no time, his mumbles turned into whispers and his mind went blank. He felt numb, yet surrounded by pain around his aching heart. He closed his eyes tightly and rock his body. His soul had died and nothing could fix that. He bit on his lip in frustration and slammed his balled up fist against the floor again, drawing more blood out of the back of his hand in the process.

Nurses who were watching ran towards him, trying to calm him down, grabbing his arms while a doctor was trying to jab something into him with a syringe in hand.

Seconds later, his voice and body gave out and finally a wreck.

SaRang was sitting on the edge of the bed in complete silence, biting her nails and waiting for her brother anxiously. She was supposed to sleep three hours ago but wasn't able to. She wanted to call HeeChul but it's already too late and knowing tired he must have been to manage so many homes during the day, needed the rest during the night.

SaRang glanced at her watch under her pillow and almost jumped as she heard a car door slam and went to the living room. She was wondering who could that be, since no one ever came in here with a car.

Their neighbours were like them, too poor to own a car or even travelled in one. Even if they could, no one can pass this area without permission, HeeChul made sure to put someone trustworthy to guard the place during the night.

HeeChul burst through the door with JunSu tagging behind. "Hi, you!"

"You!!!" SaRang snapped but let him go as she noticed her brother walked in. "Where have you been? Were you at Jeju?"

JunSu nodded. His wet tears as well as his dried ones blended together as he looked at his sister guiltily.

"What have you done?" SaRang asked.

"He didn't do anything" HeeChul provided an answer as he saw how reluctant JunSu was.

JunSu has been crying all the way from the train station where HeeChul had waited for him. The latter was already there with a car, after watching the live telecast from the old folks home.

"Did they see you?"

JunSu nodded.

"YooChun?" SaRang asked, wanting to be sure.

"It's the press!" HeeChul said.

"We have to leave" SaRang panicked.

"You don't have to! They know the truth! Everyone knew!" HeeChul said, paused on every word to get it into her brain and hopefully to stop the whole idea running in JunSu's.

"What?"

"Everyone knew SoYeon's the culprit!"

"How?"

"Apparently someone had a camera planted and everything were caught" HeeChul explained.

"Is it true?" SaRang looked at her upset brother.

JunSu nodded.

"Then, why are you crying?" SaRang was confused, cupped his face to wipe off the warm tears. It pains her to see him that way.

JunSu knew he had made the right decision; he couldn't be with YooChun knowing what he had done. He wasn't ready to meet YooChun just yet, he couldn't forget how the composer had hurt him and his sister - those actions absolutely killed him. SaRang was his rock and he was sure he'd be a mess if it wasn't for her. He had given her nothing but a total messy life, like this one here. It's time to let her go. To find her happily ever after without having to worry about him all the time.

"You're leaving me?" SaRang was getting teary.

JunSu nodded sadly.

"Because of Park YooChun?"

JunSu didn't answer but stared at the floor.

"JunSu-ah, listen to me" SaRang cupped his face. "You're my brother. I'm your sister. And if you have to leave, I'll follow you"

A fresh warm tear flowed down his cheek.

"With Colleen, and grandma, to where ever you want to go" SaRang's voice cracked. "We are the only ones left, no one's allow to stay apart"

"W-wha-t ab-bout your m-model -" JunSu stuttered.

"Screw it!" SaRang cuts in. "I love you more than that!"

"So you guys are leaving?" HeeChul still couldn't believe what just happened.

"Don't know where yet but we need to start packing before anyone find us" SaRang drawled happily.

"This is how far you guys don't want to stay apart? Why not go further?"

HeeChul was being rude on purpose but after witnessing the whole drama between the siblings, he really thought they have planned to leave to a very far, far away place where no one could find them easily.

The young manager clad in a priest's robe was sitting around a garden table, right at the back of his many charity homes, the old folks.

"What? You don't want us here?" SaRang said as she patted Colleen.

"I thought you would have plan to go to GwangJu or Busan or Daegu or anywhere outside Seoul. Not here. You barely moved, you're still in my area" HeeChul emphasized the last two word. "Your mobile like home was just across the road"

"We can't leave to places like that so soon, people will notice. We have to wait for a while, until the whole thing died down" SaRang said, combing Colleen's hair.

"Is this your plan to stay away from YooChun? Because if it is, you might as well don't move" HeeChul rolled his eyes.

JunSu shook his head. He made plans to leave Seoul but when his sister said such things to him back in their lodge, he can't possibly leave her, not after a pinky promise.

"Oh stop the act! If you keep on doing that, I'll spill something about you to the public!" SaRang took a seat at the garden table.

"This is how you treat your saviour, huh? What a way to return the favour? And what kind of secret anyways?" HeeChul dared her.

"About you not being a real priest?" SaRang smirked and Colleen just have to betray her temporary guardian by barking once.

"Yah! I was a priest!" HeeChul hushed her then pointed to the canine. "And you! Ungrateful dog!"

"A dropout much!" SaRang laughed.

"What do you want me to do?" HeeChul sighed and whispered as he noticed SaRang's abnormality when JunSu gets up and took her place playing with Colleen.

"I want to know how's SinHye's doing" SaRang muttered as she turned to look at her brother.

"Why me?" HeeChul was a little reluctant, only a little. He knew they will request one day.

"One, you're not hunted! Two, you got JunSu in trouble by encouraging him to go Jeju alone and I have your secret!"

"You're not being hunted either!" HeeChul tried to negotiate, anything to light up the mood.

"The press will be looking for you once they know we're here and the whole prie -"

"Fine! Fine!" HeeChul surrendered.
