A variety of drug store and convenience store items are visible on display shelves in the background, including non-prescription medications and sunglasses. The third photograph shows two men standing at a pharmacy counter with various drug store and convenience store items visible on shelves in the background, including medications and batteries. The wall calendar to the right of the man's shoulder reading "May 2, Tuesday" suggests the year is 1961 or 1967. The fourth photograph shows a customer standing in front of a pharmacy counter with another person's hand partially visible on the far left side of the picture. A man dressed in a pharmacist uniform is visible behind the counter. Near the center of the photograph a large sign represents the traditional mortar and pestle pharmacy symbol, and the traditional Rx prescription symbol is also partially visible on it. A black and white photograph of Wayne Hightower #55 rebounding during the KU vs. K-State basketball game in Lawrence, Kansas. Hightower was a center for the University of Kansas men's basketball team from 1960-1961 before being drafted in 1962 into the NBA. He played for a number of professional basketball teams including the San Francisco Warriors, Detroit Pistons and Denver Rockets before retiring in 1972. On April 18, 2002, Wayne Hightower passed away at the age of sixty-two in his hometown of Philadelphia. Between 1960 and 1961

Avery was born August 11, 1911, near Wakefield, Kansas, and graduated from Wakefield High School and the University of Kansas. In 1964, Avery was elected the 37th governor of Kansas. He served one term as governor, losing a re-election bid to Robert Docking in 1966. 1966
