I know you read A Great and Terrible Beauty Last year. Did you read the three others in the series? I read them while on vacation in Mexico last month. They are so good. These three are my first recs to you for the new year.

I have the three, but I haven't read them yet. I will hopefully get to them soon. I just keep finding new things to read and other books get pushed back. My next book will most likely be Gaiman's The Graveyard Book which has been sitting on the shelf seemingly forever.

Congrats on 43! I reached 39 last year. Maybe this is the year I'll reach 50. I already have a great start with 8 books since Jan 1. I don't think I can keep up the average though and these books were so short.

I read the Gaiman book you mentioned in the comment above and that is pretty awesome. His Stardust is great.

I've been reading a lot of Terry Pratchett lately and loving the stories. Have you read any of Pratchett's books?

:D Thanks! Wow, with eight books, you are on a roll, so go you!

I will be starting Graveyard tomorrow. I watched Stardust and I liked it a lot. I do have the book, but I don't know when I'll read it. I'm also interested in Coraline.

I haven't read any Pratchett, but I keep hearing about his books. I will have to look for them the next time I go to the library or bookstore. Thanks for the recs!

I have another rec for you. I finished Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld and I could not put it down. I loved it so much. I know you're familiar with Westerfeld's books, so I think you might like this.

Well, you are off to a good start with two books read already.

Have you read Patterson's latest book, Witch and Wizard? I have a copy if you want to borrow it. It's pretty good, but I don't think it lives up to the hype.

I was actually discussing Witch and Wizard with someone at 50bookchallenge last week. The person said it was compared to Harry Potter, but didn't like the comparisons. There was an excerpt of it in The Quickie, and I'm definitely interested in reading it. I would love to borrow it. Thanks, Mat!

I've finished Chelsea Handler's My Horizontal Life and I recommend it for comic relief. It's blunt and very adult oriented, but I think you'll appreciate the humor. I think it was well written and fast to read.

If you own this book, could I borrow it? I sometimes watch Handler on E and she is funny.
