Your mum is indeed lovely, so looks very vital there -- not sure if it's the elephant or her natural state, but either way it's a wonderful photo.

Spoiled football (or baseball or basketball, really) fans who refuse to go to cup/postseason matches bug the hell out of me. What, you're too good for the Europa League? Plz.

And I know it's not the point, but my god that picture of Newcastle is GORGEOUS. I used to want to go only to see Shearer play (TOO LATE) but now I see there other reasons as well (apart from the Angel of the North, which isn't Al but which I'd still like to see).

I think the red light reflecting off the elephant might be good for the complexion. However, there's no doubting that her and Bedy's generation has some sort of natural advantage. *Jealousy*

Man City vs Poli was a bit sparse as well (though not as bad as that). It's surprising that all those Poli fans came from Romania to Amsterdam and Manchester (and I understand that some of them drove there!), yet people who live in the same city didn't turn up.

XD!!! WHAT. All those pictures of sunny Amsterdam and you want Britain!... Ahem. I must email my brother the Newcastle town planner and ask him which are the best architectural sights to see; I'm sure there must be something better than the Angel of the North (which is dead small; I wasn't very impressed).

Well, come on, I'm British. First you can't cycle too much cos of the traffic, and then if you tried you'd run out of puff cos of all the hills. (Apparently it's worse in Ireland; there the bus drivers like to play "knock the cyclist off the bike".) Oh, and your Dutch class sounds great.

I'm a bit surprised cos I seem to have left out one of my favourite elephants; maybe I thought no-one else would appreciate it. I should probably dig out that picture. That won't be difficult or anything. (You know what a Dala horse is, don't you? Dala elephant. Genius.)

*BEAMS* So true. (Haaa! I'm going to put that on her headstone now.)
