The latest headline abomination, plus a few I’ve had hanging around for a while. (And a Dutch bulb. And a Polish headline. Just pretend they’re Romanian.)

What, no naked Stuttgart players? I'd like me some naked Stuttgart players as long as they're not called Hilbert!
And anyway, they'd still do much better naked than in a football kit, because they'd look much more ghastly playing football than doing anything else.

I was rather interested in Panti's naked Germans, too. Perhaps that's why they took down that picture accompanying the text...

these are brilliant, especially the first one. I did a triple take. ("Wait that says...no, it can't be...OH SHIT IT IS")

Someone really needs to sort out the verb "come" in Romanian Google. It's doing this ALL THE TIME lately. (Or maybe we could just leave it as it is, cos after all, it's funny.)

LMAO! These are hilarious! I love Google Translate so much. Or BabelFish - they produce equally hilarious results. XD Sometimes I actually think they're doing it on purpose, making things sound naughty or funny, because it's so hard to believe that they're translating verbatim (I mean, how would the word "naked" get into a match report otherwise?). XDD

I don't quite get the one about Zanetti - is that the translation? XD

The word "gol" actually does mean "naked" in Romanian. XD Like a lot of other languages, Romanian acquired a lot of its football words (fotbal, ofsaid, meci, gol) from English, and unfortunately English words sometimes turn out to have alternative meanings. (The news story actually says that he isn't allowed to concede any German goals, which unfortunately he did. Bygones.)

Well, it's not funny if you speak Polish, but I don't understand it at all, so... Javi definitely looks like an alien to me in that picture and I always imagined him speaking some strange alien language, so "Przyjdzcie dopingowac" definitely comes close for me. *Cough*

PS I've read Harry Potter fics written using Babelfish, too. They're even more terrifying. O_o

Ah, okay, that would explain it. Still: WTF??? XD Those who decided that English words should be included in football!Romanian should have thought about confusing/ridiculous double entendres before! XD

I GET IT NOW! I am a bit slow sometimes. XD But yes, it fits very well to the picture. XDD
