Volunteer Ambush

Today was the first day of girl scout troops at AALC. I was told over the weekend that the Daisy (K-1st grade) troop might not exist unless somebody stepped up to be a co-leader. Wow, that sounds a lot like how my mother ended up being troop leader through most of my elementary school years. I guess some things never change. ;-)

Heh. That's how my sister wound up being troop leader for Emma's Daisy troop. Which then turned into being troop leader for her brownie troop. The funniest part came this year, when Emma's younger sister Elena hit Daisy age. It looked like there was another mother willing to run Elena's Daisy troop, much to Jen's relief. Then Elena found out mommy wasn't going to be her troop leader like she was Emma's. So now Jen is a co-leader of Elena's Daisy troop. :)

That is both awesome and bad. Bad, that now I will buy lots of girl scout cookies, especially with two kids to buy from. But cool beans on being a troop leader. I really like my troop leaders while I was in girl scouts.
