Dad... The grass is wet... why did you have to start mowing at 9 AM while I was trying to sleep in for another hour or two...? Also, now the house smells like wet, cut grass. Very unpleasant. Also! You do not ask me if you woke me up two hours after you woke me up. That's just rubbing my nose in it. Fffft ( Read more... )

It doesn't. The movie was okay, but as an adaptation it's terrible. How far are you in the books, anyway?

I'm just on the first one, but I'll most likely hunt down the others. I like how the characters are unique and stand out... like Eilonwy and Eiddileg and Gurgi.

Oh gosh, I -hated- the movie. Apparently the books are good, but wow...I've never hated a Disney film aside from that. The animation was good, but the story was so dark. :|

Well, the books are kind of dark, thus the movie was dark. There were a lot of cut characters and events, and even some minor characters that Disney added in for some reason I can't understand... Suffice it to say that it strayed from the source material a lot and... I really have no idea about some of the stuff that happened in the movie, but I've only been reading the first book. Reminds me a bit of Lord of the Rings or something.

Ah, that makes sense then.
Is it a short or long read? I might pick it up, if you say the book is good. :)
