As I was wandering around, doing my normal house bitchery today, I noticed that Alberta has this weird thing that it does every year around this time. Seeing as we never know if it's going to snow before or after Halloween (particularly in the past five years), there's a certain atmosphere around here that settles about the week or so before ( Read more... )

Only watched the Simpsons one so far, but I feel it worth mentioning that "We have reached the limits of what rectal probing can teach us" used to be a bit of a buzz-phrase around the ol' rat lab. *ahem*

Planning meeting for the Ramones: "So, guys, we need some band footage in this, but we were all up late last night snorting coke, so we don't really have any ideas, uh... Wanna just walk around? If we shoot it in B&W, maybe it'll seem arty...? Oh, it's about a graveyard? Cool, just walk around a graveyard. Okay, wrap it ( ... )

Further notes from the "Cupid's Victim" video shoot: "Jesus guys, we've been walking around forever. I don't know how the Ramones did this."
"But Nick, we only have about a minute's worth of footage. Wherever will we get the other thirty seconds?"
"Shit guys! I forgot to call my girlfriend again. Wait! I feel a headache with pictures coming on!"
And the rest is history...and so was their relationship.

I admit that I didn't exactly choose the Peanuts video for the way it was made so much as I enjoyed thinking of Charlie Brown getting torn up at the same time as Will Smith. And seriously, you can't tell me that the thought of Freddy Kruger killing DJ Jazzy Jeff didn't make you smile just a wee bit. That line "I'm your DJ now" didn't get just a tiny smirk?

So you're saying the Gary Numan video is giving you a headache with pictures? Are you feeling the urge to walk around the block and ignore your girlfriend?

Okay, "I'm your DJ now" did get a bit of a smile. But imagine how hard it would be to spin with those claws on your hand, eh? That's not what they mean by scratchin'.
