The instrumentation in that second song as actually pretty interesting - they make some really creative use of strings and brass. But I'm still going to sue the Cartoon Network for suggesting that we of the McGie clan have dust in our heads and dress like pimps.

Back in the 1970s, an experiment was conducted whereby a rat's brain was sucked out of it's ear through a straw, and the observed effects included neon green irises and uncontrollable dancing. So it's good to see that they did their homework on that front, if not on geneology.

The instrumentation is something that Voltaire likes to play with a lot. He makes this acoustic gothic gypsy music and he's a pretty big nerd so it's an all around win.

And fear not about the dusty headed pimps for they are of the McGee clan and clearly of a different stock than the McGie clan. I will say, however, that the second you get senile and weak enough, I'm totally dressing you up in a red velvet zoot suit. I'd do it sooner but bathtub rufie-colata cocktails are expensive to make on a writer's budget. That and you just happen to be in Toronto which puts a damper on things.

This is... intriguing... It's an actual -song- song, not just something that comes up in the show... And there's a decade's worth of other material... including a cover of "Lovesong"... and a goth/mariachi/reggae hybrid that actually seems to work... What does one do at a time like this?

I hear that a small team at Microsoft is working on the eRufie, but even if they get it working, (a) it'll be immediately overshadowing by the iRufie, and (b) there would still be the matter of getting the zoot suit itself rigged up. So once again, the only answer is trained helper monkeys.

I hate to mention this but Voltaire was actually in your neck of the woods sometime in the last month or two. Sadly enough, he wanted to come to Edmonton but didn't know of/couldn't find a venue so we missed out on him here. If you like his music, you should check out some of the other stuff he does. He's done a lot of stop-motion animation work as well as working on comic books, regular books and toy designs. I believe Neil Gaiman wrote a story for his Deady the Evil Teddy series too. I'm pretty sure the guy doesn't sleep but we have a lot of awesome stuff because of it so I'm willing to support this sort of madness ( ... )
