So while everyone had fun last weekend attending Bon Odori, Ani-com and Game Axis, I was stuck in Singapore for a family holiday and to shop for some things that are deemed cheaper there than here.
You can't imagine how disappointed I was to miss those events, especially since it was my last chance to be with everyone again. But alas, fate has been evil to me. And to think, if I went to Singapore the last weekend, I could've checked out Cosfest. *sighs*
Oh well, thankfully Singapore offered some comfort by allowing me to find some pretty awesome shops. ^^
It's been so long since I last checked out the Suntec Shopping Mall in Singapore. I remember vaguely of being there the last time and remember checking the place out more for books and VCDs than anime products. Years have passed and now the shopping mall now has my approval of one of the MUST GO places. Alas, why must I make this discovery now when I'm about to leave??? >__<
My sister and I went to one of those tourist attractions called the
Singapore Flyer, it's actually the world's largest observation wheel (more like a giant ferris wheel moving at a really slow pace). My interest in going there is actually anime-related. XD After our ride (my fear for heights didn't affect me much as the ride was slow but I did feel incredibly giddy), I unconsciously started humming "Waltz", the first ending for the anime Honey & Clover (for those who watch it, see the link? For those who don't,
watch the ED sequence and you might understand. XD) and without knowing it, my sister started humming it too. She suddenly burst out, "It's your fault I'm humming that song!"
And I really didn't know. Honestly. XD But it amused me too much.
After that we went to Suntec Mall to have lunch and oooh... look what we found!

A cafe with anime designs! It's called "Manga Oasis" and it's practicall filled with all sorts of fanart and even pictures of various animes. My sister and I couldn't resist and we had to try something there.
Despite the fact that it has that awesome anime theme in the cafe, it's pretty much limited to that. Don't expect any fancy anime related meals as they offered only sandwiches, pizzas and spaghetti. The names in the menu aren't that fancy either so yeah... though you're practically sitting in a world filled with anime objects, your meals won't exactly appear that way either. And no, there were no cosplayers around either to serve us... XD
But hey, to be able to check out an anime themed cafe is a rare chance so we took it. ^^

Sorry for the blur pic! But yeah, the menu cover was pretty cool!
I forgot the name of the drink my sister ordered... but it was the only think we ordered that not only looked cool, but tasted awesome as well!

And yes, there were fanarts on our table as well. XD
When we were done, we looked around and I found the best shop I wish I had known LOOOONG time ago!

Otaku House! They sold all sorts of cosplay merchandise! From the costumes themselves to other acessories that goes with them. Including props! There were of course, anime related stationaries, keychains, brooches, t-shirts (the designs on them were so awesome!!) and so much more. I swear I would've bought a t-shirt if I had the money... but they cost S$18.90 each so I pretty much had to tell my sad heart that I have to let it go. But regardless, I did buy something! ^^

I am a Tsubasa fangirl if you haven't realized it by now. XD I bought Tsubasa stationary to bring to Australia! The left is a folder with images from the Tsubasa movie, the top is a notebook with Sakura's feather pattern on it and of course, a cute Tsubasa pencil box! (The two Mokonas could be seen behind it!)

The book came in it's own box with the same design which I totally love ~ ♥. And when opened...

You can see the Tsubasa gang in chibi form and the pages had the heart pattern printed on it too! ♥♥♥♥♥♥
So besides the Tsubasa stationary (and this was something I just seriously couldn't resist), I found and instantly grabbed this:

I seriously couldn't resist. I knew, in a sense, I was to late and am not gonna cosplay Suzumiya Haruhi for a while now... but oh gosh... maybe I can one day wear this around Uni as some kind of accessory?? I am such a hopeless anime freak... XD It was just too awesome to resist! They even sold the Vampire Knight armbands there and I was so tempted to get them but really... What I had in hand was a lot already. >__<
The guy there was so nice though! He handed me a card with two stamps on it and my bill came to S$29.40 (yes, I spent that much... >_<) and he adviced me to buy one more thing so that my bill will go over 30 and I'll get another stamp. At 6 stamps, I get a free gift, and at the 12th one, I get a special membership card.
I thought about it and was highly tempted, but I told him I don't think I'll be coming back here anytime soon so I don't think it's worth it. But I told him I really like this shop and wished I'dve known it sooner, so I'll recommend it to friends instead. So rather than just withdraw the card as I expected, he added two more stamps and said, "It's all right, give this to any of your friends if they come over and they can get the promotion for you!"
So yes, anyone here going to Singapore soon and gonna check out Suntec Mall? I have something to give you and a shop to highly recommend. ^^
Other than that, I bought 3 books (I really don't know why I got them considering the fact I can't bring them to Australia, but I guess I could re-sell them. I wanted to review them anyways):

The NANA and Tsubasa ones are fanbooks (unofficial) in which they display a bunch of questions and appear to answer them. The 3rd one is actually a manga adaption of the movie "Toki wo kakeru kanojo" (love that movie!) in which I was highly curious to see how this adaption goes. Will give my review tomorrow night if I'm free.
Hope you guys like that! ^^
