Jesus Loves Us

Hallelujah! As hurricanes in 2005 were the result of God's wrath, and we've had no hurricanes hit the U.S. this year, it is gloriously clear that we've made up with the Lord. Make-up weather is always the best.

I expect to hear more on His pervasive affection for our country from Robertson and company any day!

Any day, now.

... hello?

2006: Thumbs Up, saith the Lord!

But He still hates amputees, those evil fuckers. He heals cancers all the time, but He refuses to regenerate lost limbs.

In Apocalypto, the High Priest is meant to be some shockingly cruel, superstitious figure for how he interprets droughts and solar eclipses, but my first reaction was "Oh, the King hired Jack van Impe to televangelize to the people."

Oh, it's ok, we still have the death of American soldiers to show us that we are an evil, satanic, homo-loving country.

LOL! I will need to forward that piece to my lovely acquaintance who forwarded me the "Ben Stein/Billy Graham's Daughter" piece.

I was also very tempted to ask why her god has such the perverse sense of humor that I, the atheist, has had such a good year, while she the cafeteria style christian, has had the worst year imaginable. In addition to being one sadistic bastard, her god has such a wicked sense of humor!
