From now on his happy place would be slightly more specific. Oh, Reid. I don't even know, words kind of fail me on this one. Brilliant, perhaps? Brilliant sounds about right.
At the very least Reid could stop being so dickish. Pack up the flamethrower. Stop pushing him away, hurting him out of habit. Out of fear. Reid could try to look for things they had in common, over which they could…relate, or bond, or whatever the humans were calling it these days. Reid would even do his best to repress the eye rolls. Better yet would be engaging in something genuinely productive - perhaps Reid could try to act as a sort of mentor, though he could think of nothing he knew that Luke might be interested in learning, except possibly the art of the sandwich. You should put your chapter titles on your LJ page. My heart did a little jump when I first read this one "Inside Luke" and then realized "where" it meant.
I thought this chapter was lovely! The description of Luke's brain, Reid imagining all the ways that he could "connect" to Luke as a friend, and Reid realizing his strong feelings toward Luke.

Loved the turnaround at the end from "squeezing" to "expanding". Lovely!
I just simply loved this whole chapter, beyond words, as you know. The slow realization, which was hitting us all on the head, was perfect. And I think I esp. loved flirty!Luke and doctor!Reid. Can't wait to see more.
