Title: How should I woo you?
For: #FUNKYTOWN
Pairing: Chen/Kris, side! Sehun/Kai
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: crazy Luhan
Word count: 8,600
Summary: Jongdae is lame and Baekhyun mocks him way too much while Kris is a successful businessman, who isn't really sure about what he wants. And Luhan is just, Luhan.
“Do you always come here, sweetheart?” Jongdae asks Kris for the nth time and the latter glares at him and takes a deep breath.
“Fuck off Jongdae, I’m not here for your shit today, I have an important meeting.” Kris shoves the boy aside and enters the hotel ignoring the boy’s wines.
“I know you love me!” Jongdae screams back at him and Kris shakes his head without turning to look.
“Got rejected again,” Baekhyun says in a teasing tone near Jongdae’s ear.
“What are you saying? He totally loves me.” Jongdae hits Baekhyun playfully hard on the arm.
“He totally loves me,” Baekhyun mocks Jongdae a runs to his position at the front desk. He still has a lot of reservations to take care of.
“Fuck you!” Jongdae says too loud and Joonmyeon, the host of the hotel, stops walking and goes directly to him.
“Excuse m-” Jongdae turns and screams.
“Jongdae, are you sure you want to keep this job?” Joonmyeon asks trying to look intimidating but failing because Kyungsoo just passed behind Jongdae carrying a huge pile of papers, but Sehun was cleaning the hall and the broomstick pushed him to the ground.
The older starts to laugh loudly and Jongdae turns and sees Sehun trying to help Kyungsoo, who is ready to murder someone.
“Stop laughing Joonmyeon. I was carrying your papers,” Kyungsoo screams and Jongdae starts to laugh now, because Joonmyeon just became serious and ran to get the papers back.
“And to think those two have high positions here,” Sehun says next to Jongdae.
“You’re not helping them out?” Jongdae asks with judging eyes.
“You think I did it by accident? Oh no no, you’re not the one who has to clean the whole hotel and see those two casually flirting with each other, especially when I go to clean the offices.” Sehun giggles. “They’re so slow; I had to give a little push.”
“I… I think I’ll go back to my place at the entrance.” Jongdae pats Sehun’s shoulder and leaves, the boy’s face was scary and Jongdae is not okay with it.
-
“Come on, I’m a good boy. I’d call you sugar daddy and do whatever you want.” Jongdae attempts to catch Kris’s attention and the latter just wants to burn the hotel down.
“I’m not your pimp you fucker, I-” Jongdae stretches his hand and interrupts Kris’s talking.
“I have an important meeting.” Kris nods in approval. “But I can spare some time for you baby.”
“Forget it.” Kris leaves Jongdae behind and enters the elevator; he can’t deal with his shit today.
“You just fucked it up again hyung.” Jongin appears carrying an armful of linen and Jongdae rolls his eyes. He’s not going to be lectured about it by a kid.
“No, I didn’t. You’re the one who fuck everything up,” Jongdae shoots back and Jongin laughs, ready to make fun of him.
“Oh of course I do. In the dressing room, the janitor’s room, the bathroom, some room I have to arrange. It doesn’t matter where; if Sehun is with me we can do it anywhere.” Jongin wiggles his eyebrows, licks his lips and this is enough to make Jongdae run back to the entrance.
-
“We convinced Seohyun to be the face of our new skin care brand,” Luhan reports to Kris who just nods.
“So since the meeting purpose is sealed. You all are dismissed, until next week.” Kris gets up and Luhan comes closer to him.
“Let’s go grab something for lunch; we still have some matters to discuss,” Kris says to Luhan and they exit the room.
They stop at the 2nd floor, where the restaurant is placed and Yixing, the waiter, leads them to their table.
“We want the usual,” Luhan says and the waiter nods.
“What’s the usual?” he asks and Luhan laughs, while Kris remains quiet.
“The plate of the day, darling.” Luhan winks and Yixing mumbles I’ll be right back with your orders and leaves.
“What was that for?” Kris face palms and Luhan smirks, playing with his fingers and looking around, getting in sight a table with a few workers having lunch, just like them.
“What? He’s cute. You can flirt with the concierge and I can’t with the waiter? This is unfair.” Luhan pouts and Kris swears he wants to place his hands on his neck and shake him until he’s not alive anymore.
“I wasn’t flirting; for your information, he was the one flirting with me.” Kris takes in sight a table behind Luhan and stares at it.
“Then why are you winking at him right now?” Luhan teases and Kris chokes on nothing, the guy looking at him from that table was Jongdae.
“Look, he’s waving.” Luhan waves back and smiles.
“Don’t add fuel to the fire. You suck, Luhan. Why are you my best friend? Shit, he’s coming here. You are going to pay later.” Kris hides his face with his sunglasses and surprisingly Yixing comes back with their meal.
“Hello, gentlemen.” Jongdae sits between Luhan and Kris and Yixing places the plates at the table.
“Hi.” Luhan giggles and Kris looks at him with a disgusted face.
Jongdae notices Kris hard expression plastered on his face and waits until he turns to smile and wink at him. Kris looks somewhere else and sees the boys from the table Jongdae was seated laughing. He glares at them for a while and they shut their mouths, giving attention to their food.
“So do you always come here?” Kris hears Jongdae asking.
“Actually, yes I do, we do, every week as you see.” Luhan answers pointing at Kris and himself.
“Yes, I see.” Jongdae says and gets up. Dear God, thanks Kris mentally shouts and almost smiles. Almost.
“Now if you excuse me, I have duties to fulfill. See you round.” Jongdae bids goodbye and goes back to his table and Kris hears someone saying you ruined it again, dumb fuck now sit and eat we have a lot to do today.
Kris’s mouth twitches and the corner of it rises a little, just a little.
“You’re smiling.” Luhan points it out and laughs, slapping his thigh as Kris stuffs his mouth with food. What did he do to deserve this?
-
“Hey sweetheart, what are you doing?” Sehun jumps at the sound of someone’s voice; he’s currently cleaning the meeting room at the 9th floor and the said room was supposed to only be used in an hour. He turns and meets the too close face of that Kris guy friend.
The same guy that hit on Yixing; the same guy that hit on Jongdae, playfully he assumes, who sane enough would do it though?; the same guy that is friends with Minseok, the valet of the hotel; the same guy that hit on Jongin, two months ago, at the first time he placed his feet in this hotel, Sehun tightens his hold on the broomstick.
“I’m Luhan. And you’re-” Luhan searches for the name tag with his name and smiles. “Sehun, how old are you?”
“I’m nineteen.” Sehun glares at Luhan; you can’t hit on Jongin and get out of this easily.
“Really? Me too.” Luhan shouts and attempts to touch Sehun.
Someone scoffs at the door, not sounding amused, it’s Kris and he looks busy with his cellphone glued to his right year while he speaks in fast mandarin mixed with English.
“Luhan, you’re twenty three, just shut up and come here, we have some things to figure out before the meeting.” Kris clearly doesn’t look amused at what his friend just said and absolutely not okay with what Luhan decided to do.
“Nooooo! I’m not going. You can’t force me.” Luhan kneels and grasps the foot of the table, shaking his head.
“Excuse me, I have something important to deal right now, I’ll call you back.” Kris puts the gadget into the pocket of his pants and loosens the sleeve of his suit.
“You’re coming with me.” he grabs a handful of Luhan’s hair and pulls it up, making Luhan get up by force.
“No! Not my hair, not my hair.” Luhan whines and kicks what’s around him, calling attention from the people whose are passing outside the room.
“Shut up, I’ve had enough this week,” Kris hisses and bows apologetically at Sehun, who just nods and looks amazed at them. They’re worse than me and Jongin he thinks.
-
“We’re going to have a talk,” Kris tells Luhan when they enter the elevator, nobody dared to join them.
Luhan stumbles and hits his back into the cold metal walls.
“It hurts.” Luhan pouts and rubs his back. “Why are you so mean to me?”
“I’m not mean. It’s just you being stupid. Can’t you act like your age?” Kris looks at his wristwatch and sighs. “You wasted my time you little piece of-”
The door clicks open and Kris is currently holding Luhan by the collar of his shirt, shaking him until the latter can’t say anything properly.
Jongdae stands there, looking at them awkwardly with the luggage cart right next to him.
“I can wait for the other. Ignore that I saw you two.” Jongdae moves aside and waits for the other elevator,
“I’m going to kill you, Luhan!” Kris screams and this is the last thing Jongdae hears before the door closes as he laughs.
-
“Is making my life miserable your mission?” Kris asks when the elevator stops at the main hall and they head to the entrance.
“I try,” Luhan replies and before Kris can take any action Luhan runs.
“Minseok!” Luhan shouts as soon as he leaves the hotel and waits for their car.
“Can you stop running and shouting?” Kris comes walking slowly, dialing a number on his cellphone as he waits for Luhan to stop chatting with his friend Minseok and ask him to get his car.
“I’m calling the meeting off. Something came up and I have to deal with it.” Kris turns the mobile off and puts it back to its place.
“Minseok, can you please bring his car here?” Luhan asks and the latter nods.
“What came up?” Luhan asks to Kris who is currently trying to look inside the hotel and doesn’t notice Luhan talking to him.
“What are you looking up?” Luhan tries to look too but he’s too short to focus at the place Kris has his eyes fixed.
“We have some stuff to deal with. Just follow my lead.” Kris walks away when Minseok brings the car and Luhan looks behind him. Is not possible that Kris was watching Jongdae spilling juice at Baekhyun’s face, right?
-
“Baekhyun, I need your help.” Jongdae sing songs as he comes back from his latest task at the 3rd floor.
“What now?” Baekhyun looks up and Jongdae is holding one box of orange juice in front of him.
“Open your mouth.” He demands and Baekhyun is sure he’ll regret doing this but he does as asked.
“It’s your break right now, right?” Jongdae asks and Baekhyun snorts.
“No, I’m playing on my phone because I’m busy.” Baekhyun says and laughs but he screams when Jongdae squeezes the box, spilling the juice on his face.
“Pay back, from last week. You mocked me and I retorted when Joonmyeon was passing by. He made me carry all the food supplies instead of Chanyeol; do you know how much my back and arms hurt?” Jongdae explains and sees Baekhyun closing his fists and fuming at him.
“I’m going to go visit Chanyeol at the pool, see if he needs some help. What if some poor kid decides to drown?” Jongdae throws the box at Baekhyun’s face and runs.
-
“Is this the stuff we have to deal with?” Luhan asks, not really disturbed at the sight in front of him.
Kris just drove them to that huge and expensive ice cream parlor near his loft in Gangnam, the same one that Luhan begged to go but Kris refused, because I’m not very fond of ice cream, you kid.
“I knew you loved me,” Luhan screams. “Here, give your baby a tight hug.”
Kris widens his eyes and puts both his hands in front of himself.
“Here, take this money, buy ice cream and get your mind in place; the meeting was rescheduled for tomorrow.” Kris throws 50 dollars at Luhan and runs outside before the latter can touch him.
“Thanks my love!” Luhan waves at him with the bills.
Kris pretends to throw up and laughs. “I’m outside, don’t take too long.”
“Here’s your change.” Luhan kicks a chair, the one in which Kris is seated with his head hanging low, he was probably taking a little nap but Luhan kicked it too hard and he gets up in a jump.
“What? When? Where?” Kris asks confused, wiping the drool in the corner of his mouth. He looks down on the table and sees a few coins lying there. “How much was it?”
“49.30 dollars.” Luhan takes a seat and licks his ice cream.
“For one ice cream cone?” Kris widens his eyes and Luhan snorts.
“Of course not. I got eight.” Luhan says and Kris slams his head on the table.
“You just did not spend all that money on ice cream.” Kris screams and lifts his head, feeling something cold coming in contact with his nose.
Luhan laughs and finishes his ice cream while Kris scrubs his face with a napkin, trying to get rid of the smell of Hazelnut Chocolate Wonderfulness with Peppermint.
“I’m so done. You better act like an adult tomorrow,” Kris reminds Luhan and the latter salutes him.
“Yes Sir.”
-
“Wu Enterprise made a reservation for the whole week.” Baekhyun says and Jongdae looks up.
“And?” Jongdae asks and Baekhyun face palms. This boy is just too dumb.
“Are you deaf? Wu Enterprise. Wu. Kris Wu. And the Kris guy reserved a room just for himself, he’ll come by today.” Baekhyun knocks Jongdae’s head with his fist and mimics his expression.
“Stop mocking me you bitch.” Jongdae shoves his hands away from his head and ponders, this may be my chance.
He goes back to his position at the entrance, ignoring Baekhyun calling out his name from the front desk.
This week will be an interesting one, without doubt.
-
“Good Afternoon, Mr. Wu. May I help you carry your luggage to your room?” Jongdae bows and waits for his reply.
Kris looks at him surprised, no jokes, no hitting on him, not even one attempt to touching. This is weird.
“Yes, thanks.” He hands his luggage to Jongdae, who stumbles with it, why is it so heavy? and takes his keycard from Baekhyun’s hands
Kris frowns at Jongdae and remembers to never let Luhan choose the place of the annual meeting week ever again.
“Isn’t it easy for you to use the luggage cart?” Kris asks raising an eyebrow.
“No, it’s just one thing; I’m not carrying that shit around,” Jongdae responds and shuts his mouth, oops he’s not supposed to cuss at the guests.
“I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that.” Kris whistles, looking away and Jongdae is thankful about it.
“Let’s put it into your room then. Follow me please.” Jongdae heads to the elevator and waits for it to come down.
“Wait, which room is yours?” he rubs the back of his neck, act cool Jongdae, cool. Funky Jongdae, that’s right. Bow down bitches.
He evilly laughs to himself and Kris backs away. This is weird.
-
The elevator stops at the 10th floor, Kris exits first and Jongdae stumbles more with the luggage behind. He takes the keycard out and opens the door with it and while he guards the keycard into his wallet, someone, obviously Jongdae, pushes him into the room and closes the door.
“What you think you’re doing?” Kris turns to look at him.
“Helping you to settle down here.” Jongdae throws the luggage on top of the bed.
“Thanks, I guess.” Kris looks around, this a prank, right?
“No actually, I wanted to do this.” Jongdae walks up to Kris and motions for him to stoop to his level.
Kris does as asked and hopes he won’t regret it later, like he always does with Luhan.
“Can you close your eyes?” Kris huffs but does as asked.
Jongdae comes closer to his face and-
“Ha I knew it; your eyelashes aren’t longer than mine.” Jongdae shouts and laughs pointing at Kris, who opened his eyes already and was questioningly looking at him.
“Why so gloomy sweetheart? You thought I was going to kiss you?” Jongdae makes kissy noises at Kris and the latter takes a deep breath, his blood boiling at the mocking tone on Jongdae’s voice.
“Shut up!” he says and closes Jongdae’s mouth with his right hand.
“You just did NOT lick my hand!” Kris shouts and closes his eyes, scrubbing his hand on his pants.
“I swear Jongdae I-” what the fuck my voice is not coming out anymore, Kris thinks and opens his eyes to be blinded by Jongdae’s too close face while ignoring the sudden warm skin on his lips.
Jongdae is harshly pressing against him and Kris loses his balance, falling backwards straight to the bed with Jongdae on top of him.
“Jongdae, get off me,” Kris hisses, but Jongdae is all smiles and laugh. He tries pushing him out of his body but the latter fixed his legs tightly around his waist. Sneaky bastard took advantage of me while I was catching my breath, Kris thinks while trying to break free.
“Try me,” Jongdae whispers while climbing up his body, trying to get to his eye level. Kris shivers and remains petrified, not sure why though; maybe he wants to see what Jongdae would do to him, so he closes his eyes once again.
Jongdae takes Kris’s actions as an invitation and leans against his chest, breathing heavily before placing his lips on his again. He kisses him innocently but to his surprise, a few minutes later Kris breaks it and exchange places with him, pinning him against the mattress and now he’s the one on top of him. Kris is so much heavier than him and it’s suddenly hard to breathe.
But Jongdae doesn’t have time to complain about it, because as soon as he opens his mouth to inhale some oxygen, Kris dives into it, roughly bruising his lips and tugging at the buttons of his uniform.
“Take off your uniform,” Kris orders and Jongdae widens his eyes, suddenly feeing self-conscious.
“Why do you want me to do it?” he asks carefully, surrounding his arms on his chest.
“Are you serious? You’re the one who started it. Now move. If you’re not doing it, I’ll do it for you,” Kris demands and Jongdae is too scared? No, maybe overwhelmed with the flow of everything, he didn’t think it would work; he owes a favor to Jongin.
“What is this?” Kris asks when he takes off Jongdae’s gray jacket and a little tube falls from its pocket.
“Jongin gave it to me earlier. I’m not sure why.” Jongdae shrugs and Kris is not here to give this boy a lesson on how things are done, at least that’s what he thinks.
“Jongdae, stop acting like an ingenuous virgin.” Kris stops and looks at him with eyes wide. “You’re not one, right?” Jongdae laughs and stops, suddenly looking serious and troubled at the same time.
“I actually am. Do you see any problem with it?” Jongdae turns crimson and tries to hide his face between his hands.
“Oh I-” Kris gets off Jongdae and sits next to him. “I’m sorry.”
“Why the fuck you’re sorry? Did I ask you to stop? I may not actually know what that tube Jongin gave me is and how it works. But you’re here, isn’t it enough?” Jongdae grunts. He feels like he’s being totally underestimated.
“So you’re okay about… you know,” Kris says, shamefaced. Jongdae laughs, nodding.
“But I’m curious, why would you accept it? Since you were always turning me down.” Jongdae is playing with his fingers and pinching the blankets. Cute, Kris thinks and smiles.
“Maybe, I have a thing for the way you smile and how you never gave up on trying getting me.” He scoffs and turns his face to the other side, hiding the light blush coloring his cheeks.
“So so, can I call you sugar daddy?” Jongdae licks his lips and Kris groans. Not this again.
“No, this is not my thing,” He snaps and unbuttons his suit, throwing his necktie to the floor along with his belt and shirt.
“Then what is your thing?” Jongdae asks emphasizing the last word.
Jongdae almost regrets asking it, because the smirk that forms on Kris face is scary, too scary.
-
Jongdae totally regrets asking, when he looks at his hands tied with Kris necktie up his head. And he tries to scream when Kris attempts to fasten his handkerchief to his mouth.
He tries to undo the knot while his screams are muffled by the damn handkerchief and Kris is nice enough to take it off, after several failed attempts to free himself.
“What the fuck? You want me to die asphyxiated?” Jongdae cries and Kris laughs at him.
“Can’t you breathe by your nose?” and it gets Jongdae angrily yelling and wrestling with the tie.
“Are you kidding me? Is this really your thing?” Jongdae says through breaths. The shuffling got him wasted and he can’t fight anymore.
“Actually, no it isn’t.” Kris bursts into laughter while he unties the knot and Jongdae pouts, not believing on what his ears just heard.
“Maybe this is not my thing, but I want you to do what I say.” Kris turns serious and Jongdae gulps, eyes fixed on Kris’s half opened shirt. Maybe he wants to have someone ordering him around.
“Just do what you want; I don’t know a thing after all.” Jongdae closes his eyes and yawns, he’s supposed to go back to work in two hours, good thing he blackmailed Joonmyeon with an old photo and got an extra hour, but if Kris doesn’t take a move faster he’s going to take a nap.
Kris gets up from the bed and takes his shirt of, with his pants following behind; he’s only left on his briefs and he looks at Jongdae to see if the latter is undressing too, but apparently he’s too busy drooling in a pillow to do it.
So Kris, as the gentleman he is, wakes Jongdae slowly, slowly blowing air on his ears and the poor sleepy boy turns his head mumbling, mom, fifteen minutes more.
“Or you wake up now or you won’t have anything.” Kris kicks the bed and Jongdae jumps, opening his eyes and blinking lazily at him.
“Yes, daddy, I’m sorry; I stayed up until late last night,” Jongdae apologizes and takes his pants off, throwing it at Kris, who looks at him with slight disgust. Up until late at night, playing a role playing game online, in which Baekhyun always says he sucks but he still logs in and wastes his time dying.
“Done. Here take my shirt, and do not let it wrinkle. Just don’t, you know, hurt me.” Jongdae waves his hand and lies back on bed. He gave up on being nervous and he’s just waiting to see how Kris will manage everything.
He kicks his pants off and Kris laughs.
“You’re wearing Star Wars underwear.” He throws himself on the bed and laughs his head off.
“You’re so childish, but you’re wearing this--I don’t know what it seems--underwear full of stupid colors, so shut up.” Kris pretends he’s offended and jumps on Jongdae, knocking the air out of his lungs and laughing at his face.
Between Jongdae’s protests, Kris aims for his lips and kisses him for some good minutes, sucking on his bottom lip and earning a few little gasps and moans that escapes the boy’s mouth.
Jongdae gets a little more than excited when Kris accidentally draws his hand lower.
‘Can I?” Kris asks placing his hands at the waistband of his underwear, tugging at it and licking his lips when he sees Jongdae’s needy face: this is the only reply he needs and all their clothing are scattered around the room.
Kris takes the tube Jongin gave Jongdae and puts some of the lube on his fingers.
“You bottom. I’m going to get you ready.” Jongdae just assents, he’s still somewhat sleepy.
But he’s not that sleepy anymore when Kris finger enters him, letting out a loud moan and Kris has to ask him to not be so loud.
“You got the most expensive room you idiot. It’s soundproof, so just shut up and keep going.” Jongdae slaps his forehead lightly and Kris rolls his eyes muttering, Rude, and I’m here taking care of you.
Kris gets utterly annoyed and gets his necktie back from the floor.
Jongdae gulps, he’s fucked. Literally.
-
Jongdae appears at the main hall, limping and almost late. He’s lucky Joonmyeon is someone easy to handle. But Baekhyun isn’t and the funny faces and noises his best friend does when he takes sight of his state are not, in the least, amusing.
“Looks like someone finally got laid,” Baekhyun says as soon as Jongdae nears him, mocking the poor boy as usual. It’s his favorite hobby.
“Whoa, thanks, the whole population of this hotel is surely interested about my sex life.” Jongdae looks around, glancing to see if someone heard Baekhyun and to his relief, apparently nobody did.
“Hey Jongdae you smell like sex.” Jongin twirls and supports himself against the front desk. Jongdae swears the boy is always trying to get on his nerves.
“It’s Jongdae hyung for you!” He yells, not accepting the kid’s sassy attitude. He already tolerates Baekhyun’s; another one is not welcomed. “Or you can call me funky funky hyung, or Chen hyung, or funky funky lord Chen.” Okay, maybe now he’s the sassy one.
“Why Chen though?” Jongin asks and whistles when he spots Sehun cleaning the lower part of the glass walls, everybody stares at Jongin with a face that screams ‘we are judging you hard’.
“That Zitao kid from my mandarin classes said I look like Chen and he’d be calling me like this because he thinks Jongdae is difficult to pronounce.” Jongin looks confused for a moment. “Why the hell is a Chinese dude doing at mandarin classes?”
“I don’t know, the same reason why we study Korean?” But Jongin clearly ignores Jongdae’s explanation and goes away without telling him and when he turns, he sees the not so pleasant image of Jongin slapping Sehun’s butt while the latter kind of blushes, or fumes? He’s not sure, but he didn’t need this pictured in his mind, and now he just wants to, maybe, slam his head against a wall and see if he loses consciousness and erases this.
But life is not fair and when he turns Baekhyun has that smug smile rubbing right on his face and he decides that maybe going to his position at the door is not a bad idea.
-
“Yuck Kris, your room smells like sex mixed with your fucking expensive but smelly cologne.” Luhan just arrived to greet Kris and the first thing he noticed was this odd weird mix of sweat and definitely come.
Kris rubs the back of his neck. His necktie is crooked and his clothes totally gave it away. They’re all wrinkled and the bed is a mess.
“You not even had the decency to open the freaking window and maybe try to make the bed and take a shower?” Luhan glares at him. He tries not to laugh at the face his best friend just made; jeering at Kris was one of his ultimate hobbies during college days, so why not bring this habit back? It’s not like he doesn’t do it nowadays, but constant assaults to Kris’s ego are his favorite.
“Who was it with this time?” Luhan put emphasis to ‘this time’ like this is something Kris does in a daily basis and the latter doesn’t like the tone of his voice but he already knows Luhan is trying to ridicule him, his attempts never end. “I knew it! It was that hot guy that works as lifeguard at the pool. I saw you checking him out last week.”
“What? I don’t even know his name.” Kris looks at him with a face that says ‘try harder bitch’.
“But Chanyeol is a nice guy. He even explained to me how those artificial respiration methods works, like the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.” Kris turns his face in disbelief and locks his eyes with Luhan’s.
“Are you sure you’re not the one hooking up with almost the whole population?” Luhan laughs at Kris’s face and sits at the chair by the window. It’s only the beginning of the afternoon, the sky looks clear and the sun shines bright, Luhan may consider going to the pool later.
“No, not really, I just enjoy flirting.” Kris sinks on the bed and sighs; he wipes his forehead and gets hold of his luggage, searching for some clean clothes; after all a shower doesn’t sound bad.
“Can you leave now? I have to take a shower.” Luhan gets up and pats Kris’s head. “I hope you’re not getting yourself in trouble.”
The door clicks and Kris has his towel in hand.
He can’t wait to see what’ll happen this week. Hopefully everything will run just fine.
-
Jongdae is currently having a serious conversation with Baekhyun, Jongin and Sehun teamed up on him last night and decided to totally destroy what he achieved on Minecraft and they also laughed at his manga collection. He didn’t graduate college to receive this kind of treatment, not that it has any connection with what he was saying.
“Good morning,” someone says from beside him and he turns his head when he recognizes the person as Kris. He takes a quick deep breath and turns back smiling. He’s not called Funky Chen for nothing, and actually nobody calls him this, but he just needs some confidence, that’s all.
“Hey,” he starts and licks his lips. “Want to grab some lunch later?”
Kris looks at him. That’s, without a doubt, surprise in his eyes. He opens his mouth to answer but closes it; maybe he’s as awkward as Jongdae. Instead of words, he just signals positively with a brief nod of his head, blond locks of his hair swaying and blocking his view. Jongdae holds back the urge to take them in his hands, pressing them on his back, Baekhyun sending an amusing grin at his direction. He never loses the chance to keep quiet; at least he’s not saying anything embarrassing.
“See you at the restaurant on the 2nd floor at lunch time then.” Jongdae rushes to his position; he even forgot what he was going to tell Baekhyun when he felt Kris presence beside him a few minute ago.
Minseok, who is also at his own position, looking at the cars, sends him a sympathetic look when Jongdae takes a deep breath and holds himself against the wall behind him.
This week is, indeed, being an interesting one so far.
-
“Let’s go grab lunch?” Luhan says as soon as Kris opens the door of his suite, shirt halfway buttoned with one shoe missing, hair messy and tooth brush on his mouth.
“grrgagrgrgargrg” is the only noise that comes out of his mouth full of toothpaste and Luhan backs away; he’s already in his black suit for the meeting later and white marks of toothpaste are not welcomed.
“No, you pig, go wash your mouth first!” Luhan yells and pushes Kris back inside. “I’ll be here waiting for you.”
After what seemed like hours for Luhan, but only two minutes to be honest, the door re-opens and Kris is finally dressed properly and not a walking mess.
“Let’s go, lunch lunch. And I can’t wait to-” Kris mumbles something and Luhan stops talking enthusiastically. “What? Talk louder man, I can’t hear you.”
“Stop shouting, I’m right beside you!” Kris and his husky strong voice echoes through the hall and Luhan send him a disapproving look.
“I already have plans.” Kris sheepishly rubs the back of his neck and beams at Luhan, and Luhan is not sure if he should be concerned or not.
“Should I ask what it is?” he asks cautiously, tilting his head, a little habit of his when he decides to get some thinking done.
“Lunch plans. What did you think I was talking about?” Kris asks, his thick eyebrows twitching when he wonder what Luhan could have imagined. “Were you being naughty again, Luhan? Stop with this kind of speculations.”
“What? No, I was just thinking that if you already have lunch plans, I could go out and have something with Minseok, don’t you think? We didn’t talk much for the past years; I think we need to catch up a little.” He smiles to himself and Kris pats his shoulder. The kid never grows.
“Do you think we could talk about soccer like old times?” Luhan’s eyes shine with so much hope. Minseok was always someone Luhan looked up to.
“Yes, I guess you can. Now I have to go, I’m almost late to my appointment.” Kris turns on his heels and stands in front of the elevator. He would take the stairs but he’s almost at the last floor; he doesn’t want to arrive there panting and all sweaty.
When the door of the elevator opens he sees over the glassy walls of the restaurant, Jongdae is sitting there, playing with what looks like his cellphone.
At one table at the other end of the place Kris can identify Jongdae’s friends, whispering something to each other, at the exclusion of two of them; he assumes they’re the youngest there, both immersed in some kind of battle between themselves, poking shoving spoonfuls of food at each other, more than bothering one another, Kris can see the lovingly gaze on their eyes.
He gets so distracted with the observing that he doesn’t notice in time the warnings Jongdae sent him, and he ends up stumbling upon a stool and falling face flat to the ground.
Jongdae’s laugh can be heard all over the restaurant and the latter gets up from his seat and comes to rescue Kris form all the embarrassment, at least that’s what he tries.
After a huge load of shame and self-consciousness, Kris finally accommodates himself at the seat in front of Jongdae, and the boy smiles warmly at him. He’s not sure, but he knows he’d probably fall again if he stood up, so he tries to keep steady on the seat.
“Are you okay?” Jongdae asks concerned. Maybe Kris looks worse than he thought; he remembers going up to his room, right after Jongdae asked him out for lunch, and laying on his bed, he kept making a whole bunch of different scenarios, and he didn’t have any idea of what Jongdae wanted to talk about.
“Yes, I am.” Kris replies. I hope I am, he tells himself and automatically his hands take a strong grip at the end of the table clothing. He’s not supposed to be nervous; Kris Wu is never nervous about small little things. He tries to convince his mind and his senses, but gets disappointed with himself when he jumps on his seat when the waiter Yixing places the menu in front of him.
“I thought I was the one being all nervous,” he hears Jongdae saying and looks at him over the menu, eyes sneaking curiously at his frame. He takes another deep breath before speaking.
“I’m not good with the entire romantic involvement thing,” he blurts out and Jongdae plays with his fingers, processing his words.
“I didn’t even bring this up,” je whispers and Kris kind of regrets shoving the words at him.
“I was hoping we could be friends first of all.” He straightens up and stretches a hand at him. “I’m Jongdae, I like video games and I like to sing and I like to read One Piece.”
Kris is suddenly out of words, is he supposed to introduce himself too?
“I’m Kris Wu, or Wu Yifan, or Kevin Li, or Li Jiaheng; forget about the names. Err, I like basketball and hip hop.” He shakes the younger’s hand and Jongdae looks once again a little surprised.
“Really?” is all that he can utter. Kris is not really shocked; Luhan used to laugh at his preferences when they were younger. You don’t look like someone who would actually enjoy hip hop, he’d say and then laugh.
“Really,” he says more confidently. Nobody has the right to question his preferences. Not Jongdae, not Luhan, not his mother, not his father, just him.
“That’s cool.” Jongdae takes a look at the menu and calls Yixing over while Kris stares at him.
“I want the plate of the day.” Yixing takes note at his paper block and turns to Kris, waiting for his order.
“I think I want spaghetti.” He fumbles with the menu and just says whatever comes in mind.
Yixing scoffs and averts his eyes out of the block. “The plate of the day is spaghetti.”
“The plate of the day then.” He snorts and hands back the menu to the waiter.
Yixing sends them a judging gaze and returns to the kitchen.
“I don’t think he likes you or me.” Kris points out and Jongdae laughs; laughs because he remembers why Yixing maintains a distance from him.
“Ah, it’s because I almost threw him into the pool once and right after I passed running and almost knocked him down the stairs. It’s not that he doesn’t like me; it’s just that he thinks that people who I’m friends with tend to act like me and he wants to be cautious.” Jongdae laughs again at how ridiculous Yixing’s reasons are, but he never was one to judge, he’s the last person who can do it anyway.
Kris doesn’t know if he should laugh along or stay quiet. He opts for the last one and coughs. They don’t try to strike conversation again, Jongdae’s mouth pressed into a firm line and Kris looking at the door of the kitchen at the other side of the restaurant.
It’s funny because Kris doesn’t know how they ended up kissing, nor does Jongdae, hot breath tickling his skin and desire as Jongdae pulls him down by his neck; maybe it was the tomato sauce or just the door of the suite calling to be opened and slammed.
-
Jongdae finds himself at Kris suite room every day, be it after his shift or during it; he’s not sure if it’s just lust or more than his brain can process. They don’t really talk when they cross each other’s paths openly, Jongdae knows he’s just the employee and Kris is the big CEO of the Wu Enterprise.
He doesn’t know why Kris keeps giving him attention, but the most confusing thing is that he doesn’t know why he’s questioning himself, wasn’t Kris’s attention his desired target before?
“Stop spacing out Jongdae, you’re not paid to look at nowhere.” Joonmyeon snaps his fingers at Jongdae’s face and walks away.
“Good morning my dear.” Jongdae jumps on his place when a voice comes from behind and along with someone blowing air at his neck.
He turns to look at the devil who’s assaulting him early in the morning; the culprit looks at him with the most innocent face ever. Jongdae reminds himself he can’t scream at the guests nor choke them; instead he bites his lower lip and bows.
“Hey kid, do you want to have lunch with me? Please, it’s our last day at the hotel, of course we’ll come again for our meetings, but I never got to talk to you,” Luhan asks him, small smile playing on his lips. Jongdae doesn’t know if he’s making fun of him or just being honest.
“I’m just a few years younger than you,” je points out and shrugs, it’s not like it really matters. “But yes, I think we can go out for lunch.”
“Awesome, see you here when it’s your break.” Luhan runs away, probably to some important reunion.
-
“Ready to go?” Luhan appears at the appointed time sharp; different from earlier. He’s not wearing his suit, his weirdass purple suit, as opposed he’s wearing a pair of black washed jeans, too tight in his opinion, with an oversized red hoodie, totally contradicting his pants.
Jongdae clears his throat and turns to head to the 2nd floor.
“Where are you going?” Luhan asks and doesn’t wait for any explanation; he knows Jongdae’s break is just one hour long and he, as much as he likes to see people in trouble, is not going to get the kid fired, so he just takes him by the wrist and marches to the ramyun shop at the other block.
“Is there something you want to talk about with me?” Jongdae asks as soon as they sit at one table and order. He’s not used to being dragged by others without having an important matter to discuss, unless it’s Baekhyun asking for help because his make-up vanished and he wants him to go buy more at midnight.
“Not really, I just wanted to have a nice lunch with you.” Jongdae freezes, what was that supposed to mean?
“I’m not interested,” he tries to clear out before it gets out of control.
“I know. Me neither. Why would I want to have something with you?” Luhan laughs and Jongdae clearly feels offended and kicks him under the table.
“Okay I’m sorry; I have something to talk to you. Your kick hurt, by the way. I was just joking.” He says clutching the place hit. “Let’s just get to the point and enjoy lunch, I don’t want you blaming me for arriving late at your work.”
Jongdae nods and waits for him to start.
“Basically, don’t hurt Kris. Oh, our food is coming.” He claps his hands and grabs his chopsticks. “Thanks honey.”
“That’s it?” Jongdae asks, and takes his chopsticks too, he’s really really hungry, and that freaking piece of bread with butter as breakfast wasn’t the cleverest idea he had.
“Yes, and I hope we can also be friends,” Luhan says, mouth stuffed with food, he spits around and Jongdae closes his eyes and throws a napkin at his direction.
Luhan laughs at the face Jongdae makes, the ramyun is delicious and Jongdae is glad he managed to make a new friend.
And as Luhan said, he promise, he won’t hurt nobody. He won’t hurt Kris.
-
“Today is the last day of the reservation for the Wu Enterprise,” Baekhyun tells Jongdae, who obviously already knows about it, but pretends his friend is useful by not talking back and just nods.
“Are you guys a thing? Or is just a hook up?” Baekhyun asks, concern evident in his voice. “You know if it’s the last I may say that this is not healthy Jongdae.”
“I know.” Jongdae turns away and bumps into Kris, almost falling flat on his butt but the latter manages to get hold of his arm.
He manages to stutter a low thank you and tries to go to the entrance, but Kris is still holding his arm.
“I want to talk to you; can you come to my room when you’re free? Today I won’t have meetings.” Kris whispers and releases his grip on Jongdae.
Kris doesn’t need an answer, he knows by Jongdae’s face that he’ll appear, sooner or later, and smiles to himself.
-
A light knock on the door startles Kris. He’s lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling, repeating what he planned to tell Jongdae, but the words seems so much easier to say when you practice them to yourself. Now that Jongdae is, awkwardly, standing in front of him, he managed to forget everything.
He gives space for him to enter the room; his steps are stiff, like he’s holding himself to not fall to the ground. Kris feels more relieved, at least he’s not the only one nervous.
“What you wanted to ask me?” Jongdae says first, right foot playing with the carpet, eyes not really focused on anything.
Kris looks around, his hands are all sweaty by now, he’s all sweaty. He decides that taking at sit at the bed is a good idea; he doesn’t want to pay the ridiculous act.
“Are we something?” The words he wanted to say finally leave his mouth, low and dry, but enough to Jongdae’s ear to pick them up.
“I mean we do stuff and I enjoy it, actually. And I know you do too.” Kris’s whole face starts to burn at his own words and maybe he should open the window, suddenly it’s too hot inside.
Jongdae chokes on nothing and leans against the wall, trying to steady his balance.
“What do you mean?” Jongdae asks, eyes still looking at nowhere and everywhere; his voice wavers, maybe he’s afraid, or just nervous.
“I mean, you didn’t only want to get into my pants, right?” Kris asks, his hands are shaking but Jongdae notices that he ignores it; Kris was nervous before but now the look of determination evident on his eyes tell otherwise.
Jongdae gathers all the courage he can and takes a sit right next to Kris.
“Yes, I did.” He licks his lips. He feels like the words doesn’t want to leave his mouth; they’re like rocks he can’t lift, but he needs to make and effort and try. “But it was at the very beginning. Funny how from pure desire to be able to kiss you, I started to want to be able to make you smile and soon after ‘getting into your pants’ as you said, I wanted something bigger. Not just physically, I wanted to get into your heart.”
Kris remains silent, his mind absorbing every word as Jongdae jumps off the bed and makes a run for the door, when Kris snaps out of his trance, managing to reach the door before Jongdae could escape, with the help of his long legs.
“You’re not going anywhere.” Kris closes the half opened door and gently pushes Jongdae against the wall.
“Why?” he whines and stomps his foot. Jongdae’s words re cut short when Kris presses his lips on his. Everything is a blur; the kiss is messy, sloppy even, just like their feelings.
-
“Your lips are swollen.” It’s the first thing Baekhyun says when he sees Jongdae.
“What? My lips are naturally like this, just like Jongin’s.”
Baekhyun snorts.
“Jongin’s is always swollen because he and Sehun make out everywhere at any time.” He arranges the papers he was holding and he slams at the hand bell, the hall is currently empty and the sound echoes through the whole place.
Jongdae is not sure why the fuck Baekhyun is doing this, but when he notices the curtains behind him move he knows why.
“Hyung why?” Sehun whines and leaves his hiding place, along with Jongin, which is not a real surprise, their hair looking like a bird’s nest, clothing full of wrinkles.
“Told you.” Jongdae rolls his eyes and once again he bumps into someone while trying to leave the scene. The bright smiling face tells him it is Luhan this time.
“Hello friend.” Luhan puts his arm around his shoulders.
“Jongdae!” Joonmyeon screams from the other side of the hall. He doesn’t look amused, or at least that what Jongdae thinks.
“Were getting another intern, you’re not the concierge anymore.” Joonmyeon announces proudly but forgets some to tell some information.
“Am I fired?” Jongdae tries to look calm; he puts his hands into his pockets, he need to hold his problem with desiring to choke people until death.
“What? No. I’m promoting you. Be happy, you’ll be working at the front desk along with Baekhyun.” A loud protesting groan is heard and of course it is Baekhyun, who else it would be.
“Who is this damn new intern? I want to plan his death, painful and slow.” Baekhyun rubs his hands, venom in his voice and Jongdae laughs, because sometimes Baekhyun is really stupid.
“Huang Zitao.” Joonmyeon tells smiling from ear to ear and now it’s time for Jongdae to groan in frustration.
“No, why? Why is this happening?” Jongdae dramatically throws his arms around Luhan who is still standing there into the confusion.
“Why are you harassing Luhan, Jongdae?” Kris’s voice comes out of nowhere but actually he just exited the elevator with his luggage in hands.
“No, why Huang Zitao, Joonmyeon? Why? Why?” Jongdae already let go of Luhan and is now shaking Joonmyeon, trying to see if he can knock some sense into his boss.
“Because he’s pretty competent.” He manages to say while trying not to throw up from all the shaking. “Look, he’s here already. Stop assaulting me with your hands Jongdae.”
“Chen chen hyung, you’re here.” The first thing the Zitao kid says with accented Korean and comes bouncing and clutching at Jongdae’s arm.
“Shut up and go away Zitao. We’re not at the mandarin classes,” Jongdae hisses through his teeth while he shakes his entire body trying to get rid of the boy.
“Can I go out for lunch now?” Chanyeol pokes Joonmyeon, who should be taking care of the new employee instead of watching the fuss they’re making.
“Go go Chanyeol; I have stuff to take care of here.” Joonmyeon shoos him and puts himself in the middle of the mess.
“You.” Joonmyeon points at Baekhyun. “Go back to your place. And you Jongdae, go change your uniform. You’re staying there with Baekhyun.” He turns to Zitao and points at him. “You’re still into the experimental month, do shit and you’re out. Now go to the entrance, fast.”
Everybody start to disperse and go back to their respective places, and now Jongdae needs to change his uniform, awesome, he’s not doing it.
“Wait,” Kris calls out and Jongdae stop on his tracks. “Want to get dinner later?” The smile Kris sends him is full of energy and enthusiasm, and oh so handsome.
“Of course.” He smiles and holds the hem of the jacket he’s wearing.
“I’ll pick you up after your shift at 8, don’t forget.” Kris waits for Jongdae’s response and walks away.
“Isn’t he checking out?” Jongdae asks Baekhyun once he gets behind the front desk, yanking that jacket off, now he’s wearing the mandatory red pants and a white shirt.
“He paid everything beforehand.” Baekhyun explains, paying more attention to the curve of his nails than to Jongdae’s presence.
Jongdae sighs, he’s so happy right now, he could run a marathon.
He sighs again. Baekhyun’s eyes twitch.
“You’re disgusting,” Baekhyun tells him at the nth sigh he lets out.
“At least I have a hot boyfriend and you don’t,” Jongdae mocks him this time. Baekhyun looks with rage at him.
“At least I’m hot and you’re not.” Baekhyun smiles triumphantly. And Jongdae pats his head.
“I still have a boyfriend and you don’t.” Baekhyun screams in protest, hitting Jongdae’s face with his notebook.
Jongdae just laughs. After all, at least he has a boyfriend.
